"In September, President Trump announced he would end DACA and left it up to Congress to come up with alternative legislation. But with less than a month until that March 5 expiration date, lawmakers and the Trump administration remain at an impasse."

NYC cab driver kills himself after lashing out at politicians in Facebook post - CBS News - 2 views

I feel very saddened that this happened. His views were noticed, but it shouldn't take him killing himself for his voice to be heard.

Burger King | Whopper Neutrality - YouTube - 2 views

Hilarious metaphor, and seeing the reactions of the customers was priceless. Although it's quite disheartening that the majority did not know what Net Neutrality was.

hilarious but ridiculous I do not agree with net neutrality
  •
I think that it is slightly weird that a food chain restaurant is commenting on net neutrality. I doesn't really seem like they should care either way about the ruling. I think they might just be trying to cash in on the recent controversy to make an ad that people will share and talk about.
  •
I think fast food places doing net neutrality is really weird and frustrating for their customers. Having to wait a certain time until you get your food would be very frustrating as a customer. So that's saying that jimmy johns would not be freaky fast anymore if we had net neutrality, it would only be fast if you paid for the most expensive one???
  •
I think the customer should ask worker what is slow MBPS before to buy burger, then they don't have to spend time for a just burger.
  •
I think that this is fake
  •
I think that this was a perfect way to explain what net neutrality was and what it protected. I also think that the exaggeration of it made it even better.

Donald Trump thinks not clapping for him is 'treasonous' - CNNPolitics - 8 views

shared by alarkin on 06 Feb 18 - No Cached
  •
Well in the article it says "He was joking! He didn't even say that it was treasonous! He was just agreeing with people who said it was treasonous!"
  •
If this is true then it is very discerning that Trump would agree that not clapping for him is treasonous. After all, isn't America supposed to be where you can state your ideals without getting punished?
  •
"What Trump is saying is that dissent -- which is what Democrats are doing when they choose not to clap for a line in his speech -- is traitorous and/or un-American."

Elon Musk is Selling Flamethrowers - Bloomberg - 5 views

  •
How do you all feel about items/weapons like these being readily available and advertised?
  • ...10 more comments...
  •
I saw the merchandise he was selling on Twitter, and it's quite fascinating at the amount of sales he's generated from these products. I think Elon holds so much influence over people that he's able to create a product, and immediately gain success from it. According to the article, the weapon does not violate any limits, so citizens should have the right to own such a weapon.
  •
I think flame throwers are a little extreme
  •
I think it is completely ridiculous to allow citizens to own a flamethrower. Who in their right mind thinks "hey it would be a nice day to carry this flamethrower around"? By selling these weapons you're just asking for issues.
  •
For what reason would anybody need a flamethrower?
  •
i think it woukd be cool to have a flamethrower even if i dont need it, it still would be cool
  •
I dont understand why someone would ever need a flamethrower, but it is cool
  •
Its not like anyone can just order one. First of they have to have the money to order one and they would have to go through some sort of screening to make sure its not some psychopath getting it.
  •
    Elon is... interesting...
  •
I can see he is selling flamethrowers for that tunnel project, but can't you sell something besides flamethrowers. Like girl scout cookies?
  •
I like flamethrowers it's funny how there is fire extingusihers underneath
  •
As long as he is following all the rules that come along with manufacturing and selling weapons I feel like he should be able to do it. Yes a flamethrower is a little on the extreme side but as long he is staying within the realm of the law I feel like it should be allowed.
  •
Flamethrowers are like guns so if the person buying the flamethrower is able to buy a gun then they should be able to purchase this as well.

Alabama death row inmate Vernon Madison gets reprieve - CNN - 5 views

  •
"Given Alabama's rejection of judicial override, the death sentence in this case constitutes cruel and unusual punishment and violates Mr. Madison's rights to a jury, fair and reliable sentencing and to due process and equal protection of the laws as guaranteed by the Fifth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution and Alabama law," they wrote in their petition."
  •
I understand that Madison has become mentally ill and doesn't have memory of the crime he committed, but he still committed the crime and was sentenced to the death penalty at first. However, due to an Alabama law no longer allowing the death penalty I think life without parole would be a good alternative for him.
  •
"Mr. Madison suffers from vascular dementia as a result of multiple serious strokes in the last several years, and no longer has a memory of the commission of the crime for which he is to be executed," How does this make the crimes he has committed go away?

Louisiana student says prayer was forced at school, so she sued - CNN - 4 views

  •
"The change came because Kaylee Cole and her mother Christy had finally had enough, and decided to take on the school system by filing a lawsuit alleging there is systematic official promotion of religion at Webster Parish schools in violation of the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment of the US Constitution."
  •
The school forcing religion among the students goes against the first Amendment, we as citizens of the U.S. have a freedom of religion and it is against the law for public schools to force a religion on anyone.
  •
Cole had a great offense when her school was promoting to pray. Which was something she did not please. To the fact that the school she attended was "public".
