CNN Poll: JFK tops presidential rankings for last 50 years - 1 views

  •
John F. Kennedy is the most popular president of the last half century, according to a new national poll
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
JFK was very popular in the eyes of the people. He also seemed to trying to do great things as President, it's a shame that he died so early in his Presidency.
  •
I think that this is a neat article and a great way to honor JFK. But every president is different. Every term that they serve has different circumstances and situations. There is no way to accurately measure who was the "best" president. This poll is just a matter of opinion or a "popularity contest".
  •
Interesting... I could understand why JFK's the most popular. But for some reason, I had a feeling Reagan would be the topper. Nice article :)
  •
That was a really cool article..lets you have more on the mind than just school related things..nice job!(:
  •
The article was neat. JFK was a great president. It's just sad that he had die in his early presidency.

Obamacare Personal Information Leaked - 0 views

  •
Isn't this lovely? In California, some folks in California who signed up for Obamacare got their personal information (name, phone #, etc.) shared with insurance agents and people like that WITHOUT their consent... Isn't this a breach of privacy? Let's hear what y'all think!
  •
This whole Obamacare crap Is driving me even more insane. When will It finally end!?

The minimum wage shouldn't be raised because giving everyone more money is the same as not giving anyone anything.
  • ...6 more comments...
  •
I think it should be raised, People are working to hard for too little money.
  •
i like that the minimum wage is being brought up
  •
I don't know if moving Minimum Wage up is a good idea because than the prices of everything will go up. But if they keep moving the Wage up and things stay the same price than thats a good idea.
  •
If we increase the minimum wage then the cost of living will go up, taxes, and businesses will be able to increase their prices.
  •
There's pros and cons to moving minimum wage up. The cost of living, taxes, and products will go up, because they have to pay people more to make the goods or provide the services. It's a tricky situation, but it really wont change much.
  •
Probably not a good idea because then businesses would be able to increase the price on almost everything. But if everything stays the way it is and nothing but the minimum wage goes up it would be fine.
  •
It's not worth It..because everything else will go up to match the new wages..so it would be as if nothing happened.
  •
Isn't this borderline inflation? More money given making the value go down and (as the dude above me) everyone else will raise the wages of everything else?

Photos show scale of North Korea's repressive prison camps -- Amnesty - 0 views

North Korea's prison camps are wrong. Now with the pictures of the camps and all the witnesses they have and evidence, I would think that would be enough for the United Nations to do something about it.

Fleeing man leaves baby in Hastings field | Local News - KETV Home - 2 views

  •
Two females were babysitting a child, and they took the baby with them to go shoplift and ditched the baby in a field so they wouldn't get caught. One was arrested and there is a warrant out for the other arrest.
  • ...6 more comments...
  •
That is so not cool. You shouldn't shop lft in the first place but there is no telling what could have happened to the child. Talk about not thinking of the lives of others...
  •
Why would someone even want to shop lift something when they were babysitting they would other things to do and more responsibilities when your babysitting.
  •
That is absolutely terrible ! Who knows what would have happened to that child! How could anyone be so cruel to a child, just so they can shoplift !!
  •
Really proves you have to know the people you trust with your kid.
  •
Absolutely horrible. The amount of trust in the world is horrible right now.
  •
I wonder what kind of charges they are going to face or are they going to get a slap on the wrist and be told not to do it again like many people.... Hmmmm.
  •
That's ridiculous. I guess you really have to find out about babysitters. People are scary.
  •
ether way its bad but it could of been the best choice to do because who knows what could of happened if the kept the baby with them

I think that he shouldn't be suspended at all. They should be able to sign whatever they want and get paid. They are the ones bringing in the money anyway.
  •
He shouldn't be suspended that makes no since I agree with cole
  •
Although I understand that the rules state that you can't get paid for signing autographs, they didn't have any proof that he did, yet still game him a suspension. I don't believe that you can be punished for something that they have no proof of.

Wow they have been dead since 2011! I wonder how they died they must have known i think because they died together just as they lived.

  •
It's sad that they were left alone so long and no one bothered to check in on them.
  •
But that doesn't mean they died by sitting down otherwise we would all be dead! They both died by something else.
  •
That is terrible. No one should be left alone for that long without being looked after at all.
  •
That is super sad how they were like hermits and lived in a dark home and no one even came to check on them for 3 years!
  •
That's really weird. They didn't talk with neighbors and were believed to have moved. Wouldn't someone have noticed the smell of decomposing corpses?
  •
That is crazy!! Having family that doesn't contact you, or basically try to have anything to do with you! Same with the neighbors!! If my neighbors haven't come out of their house for even a couple months I'd go over and check on them, even if we don't associate.

Michigan's ban on affirmative action upheld by Supreme Court - CNN.com - 1 views

  •
"The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a Michigan law banning the use of racial criteria in college admissions, a key decision in an unfolding legal and political battle nationally over affirmative action."

This Country Just Abolished College Tuition Fees | ThinkProgress - 1 views

  •
" Higher education is now free throughout the country, even for international students. Yesterday, Lower Saxony became the last of seven German states to abolish tuition fees, which were already extremely low compared to those paid in the United States."
  •
I think it'd be wonderful if the US was able to do this. It'd open up so many more opportunities to students. Maybe not completely free, but if America could reduce the general cost of college it'd be wonderful.

China denies persecution of Christians - CNN.com - 4 views

  •
(CNN) -- A massive church was razed to the ground this week in Wenzhou, a coastal Chinese city nicknamed the "Jerusalem of the East" for its large Christian population. Local officials responsible for the demolition say the church was an illegal structure that was four times the permitted structure size.
  •
I think they should have stopped the construction a long time ago if they knew it was going to be too big. They had twelve years to figure it out, and not destroying enough, is no reason to destroy the whole church.

British Politicians Make Final Push to Save Union With Scotland - 2 views

Prime Minister David Cameron urged Scottish voters Monday not to let their dissatisfaction with his government lead them to opt out of the U.K. "Please don't think: 'I'm frustrated with politics right now, so I'll walk out the door and never come back," he said, according to the Guardian.

  •
(CNN) -- It was supposed to be the couple's happiest day: Kelly Ecker, a nurse, and Dr. George Scott Samson married Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Indiana. By their wedding night, both were dead. Samson, an anesthesiologist at Union Hospital is Terre Haute, shot his bride and then himself in their home just hours after they exchanged vows, authorities said.

    What?
  •
Dude that is totally messed up!!!!! I think the police should have arrived with the first call or at least the second call was made, maybe she'd still be alive.

Two doctors fight for their own choice of how to die - 7 views

  •
It seems weird to think that it could be legal soon to plan your own death...
  •
Well if they are already going to die, it's their choice. Obviously don't give to people who aren't in chronic condition. I personally would love to have this choice instead of waiting months watching myself die. They have a right not to suffer
  •
I understand where he is coming from. Having a rare killing cancer in your body, you can't do much. If the cancer does return and it's non curable I don't see why you would have to sit and wait to die.

Decoding the Obamacare 'marriage penalty' - 3 views

Father's lesson is deadly for 19-year-old son Tyler Comstock as he is shot and killed by police - 4 views

  •
This is absolutely crazy! This is a perfect example of police crossing the line of authority. He was killed because he wouldn't shut off the truck. His dad was trying to teach him a lesson, not kill him.
  • ...14 more comments...
  •
I agree with Hayli, I don't understand why they had to shoot at him they could of shot at the tires or somewhere on the truck. so many killings have been happening by miss observations and cops killing innocent people.
  •
This is a total abuse of power. There are so many other ways you could stop a driver. They should have backed off like Ames suggested
  •
Just because you have a right to have a gun and fire if needed, doesn't mean you should every time a person isn't cooperating.
  •
Yet again another case where the police have gone to far. With the government protection will these cases ever stop? Yeah they fire one guy then the next day you hear about it in a different state. Where is the punishment?
  •
I agree with Ladasia it is another example of total abuse of power.
  •
This is a great example of the police abusing there power. Yet there is no consequences for the police that shot a 19 year old that would not turn off his truck engine.
  •
The police should be fined and fired from their jobs! They abused their power.
  •
another example of abuse of there power
  •
To pursue a stolen vehicle and pull them over is one thing but to need your weapons at all when the father is the one who called the police and use that much force is pointless and life wasting as we can see.
  •
They shot at a person who was unarmed and wasn't trying to hurt anybody, yet they chased him down and killed him like a criminal. This doesn't make sense.
  •
I agree with Hayli because all he was doing was teaching a lesson! Not try to kill him!
  •
This is a terribly unfortunate story. But I agree with the decision that the policemen made. The boy was driving recklessly and not cooperating on a college campus. If it had escalated much more they would have been putting the university in danger.
  •
Not the best story I've heard..thoughts and heart goes out to the family..
  •
Where was the escalation, Jackson? They could have smoked him out, they have tassers, there are all sorts of non-lethal things Cops are trained in for this kind of situation. Yet here they with out their guns and mow him down with shots to the head. There was no need for that.
  •
Sad stuff out there. And it kinda hits home considering this took place here in Iowa...
  •
Not that I want to admit it, but last year I got in HUGE trouble because I told my mothers car multiple times without permission. What if they would have wanted to teach me a lesson? Would I get killed just because I had a moment of bad decisions? This makes me think how easily this could have been me.

  •
The Washington Post 23 hrs ago Abby Phillip In late August, American Airlines accidentally flew the wrong plane from Los Angeles to Hawaii, a mix-up that violated Federal Aviation Administration regulations. The mistake, first reported by aviation blogger Brian Sumers, occurred on Aug.
  •
If that was the wrong plane to fly then why was it there? You'd also think that they would realize that it's the wrong plane before take off or shortly after take off.
