It's surprising how we've been pulled back with involvements with cases like these. And also the fact that it was an organization/group/etc. we went after before adds on to the surprise of our current involvement. Back in early 2000's we were fighting wars, now we're just planning defense without using our troops.

It's never a good thing for a hurricane to happen, but I'm kinda glad we live somewhere these don't happen.

The Kentucky senator's latest filibuster-style stand against government surveillance positions him as the bane of Big Brother and puts him at the center of a high-profile national security debate as support for the post-9/11 security state seems to be fraying. Paul's maneuvering is not without risks.

Disobey! It's time for REVOLUTION!! - 2 views

  •
A Commentary By John Stossel Charles Murray, already controversial for writing books on how welfare hurts the poor, on ethnic differences in IQ and on (less controversial, but my favorite) happiness and good government, has written a new book that argues that it's time for civil disobedience.

Legislative prayer gets Supreme Court review - 1 views

  •
"The Supreme Court, which asks for God's protection before every public session, will settle a dispute over prayer in the halls of government."
  •
People are getting really ridiculous with this prayer thing. If you don't agree, don't say "Amen". It's the same as if you don't like the pledge of allegiance and so you don't put your hand over your heart but you stand. Just deal with it. We have no choice but to hear the pledge, so you shouldn't make a big deal about something that has always gone on and has never harmed anyone.

Don't think it was necessary to shoot him.
  •
he did nothing wrong , he didnt deserve to be shot and the cop should be charged
  •
This video just looks a little weird to me... Anyway this was not a right way to go about this situation. Shooting someone 4 times is ridiculous.
  •
I would have shot him to
  •
I don't think it was right to shoot him. The police could have talked him out of what he was doing and could have figured out a better way to arrest him.
  •
Wow, this make s me wonder how many times a day police officers abuse their power for wrong reasons and actually get away with it. It's ridiculous how they think they are above the law when they are only suppose to be enforcing the law.
  •
Another case of the police taking advantage of their power
  •
Well Valeria is right, it's yet another case in which the police abuse their power.

This is an example of an abusive of power. I also think that the police office thought he could get away with his actions and get away with the lie because of his title as a police officer.

Obamacare website developers: Time to point fingers? - 1 views

  •
Washington (CNN) -- Finger pointing over the technical blunders that gummed up the Obamacare website launch will ensue on Thursday, it appears. Contractors who helped develop the embattled HealthCare.gov website blame each other and the government, but not themselves, in testimony prepared for the first congressional hearing on the problems engulfing the online enrollment system.
  •
Obama care seems to be failing and no one is really in favor of this bill. Many democrats are not even supporting Obama care. And the website is a complete failure.

With elections looming, Obamacare rattling Democratic nerves - 2 views

  •
The bigger fear for Democrats is that public sentiment will side with Republicans who have warned for four years that Obamacare amounted to big government run amok, resulting in an unmanageable new bureaucracy.
  •
Well, I hoped things work out in a way that we are actually working together to make the country better for the people and the economy. Obama said in his election speech that we were no longer the red and blue states but the United states of America. I really don't see that happening. A kingdom divided only destroys itself.

Father's lesson is deadly for 19-year-old son Tyler Comstock as he is shot and killed by police - 4 views

  •
This is absolutely crazy! This is a perfect example of police crossing the line of authority. He was killed because he wouldn't shut off the truck. His dad was trying to teach him a lesson, not kill him.
  • ...14 more comments...
  •
I agree with Hayli, I don't understand why they had to shoot at him they could of shot at the tires or somewhere on the truck. so many killings have been happening by miss observations and cops killing innocent people.
  •
This is a total abuse of power. There are so many other ways you could stop a driver. They should have backed off like Ames suggested
  •
Just because you have a right to have a gun and fire if needed, doesn't mean you should every time a person isn't cooperating.
  •
Yet again another case where the police have gone to far. With the government protection will these cases ever stop? Yeah they fire one guy then the next day you hear about it in a different state. Where is the punishment?
  •
I agree with Ladasia it is another example of total abuse of power.
  •
This is a great example of the police abusing there power. Yet there is no consequences for the police that shot a 19 year old that would not turn off his truck engine.
  •
The police should be fined and fired from their jobs! They abused their power.
  •
another example of abuse of there power
  •
To pursue a stolen vehicle and pull them over is one thing but to need your weapons at all when the father is the one who called the police and use that much force is pointless and life wasting as we can see.
  •
They shot at a person who was unarmed and wasn't trying to hurt anybody, yet they chased him down and killed him like a criminal. This doesn't make sense.
  •
I agree with Hayli because all he was doing was teaching a lesson! Not try to kill him!
  •
This is a terribly unfortunate story. But I agree with the decision that the policemen made. The boy was driving recklessly and not cooperating on a college campus. If it had escalated much more they would have been putting the university in danger.
  •
Not the best story I've heard..thoughts and heart goes out to the family..
  •
Where was the escalation, Jackson? They could have smoked him out, they have tassers, there are all sorts of non-lethal things Cops are trained in for this kind of situation. Yet here they with out their guns and mow him down with shots to the head. There was no need for that.
  •
Sad stuff out there. And it kinda hits home considering this took place here in Iowa...
  •
Not that I want to admit it, but last year I got in HUGE trouble because I told my mothers car multiple times without permission. What if they would have wanted to teach me a lesson? Would I get killed just because I had a moment of bad decisions? This makes me think how easily this could have been me.

Protesters sue Trump after encounter with security - CNNPolitics.com - 5 views

  •
Five men who describe themselves in a complaint as "human rights activists of Mexican origin" filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Republican presidential candidate, his campaign, his company and Keith Schiller, Trump's chief of security. The plaintiffs allege that Trump security officials, namely Schiller, assaulted them as they protested outside of a campaign event.
  •
I feel like the activists were well within their rights and forcing the protectors to move the banner as well as striking one of them is very illegal and wrong. I agree with them that Trump would make this country racist, and he should be protested against as much as humanly possible.
