five letter word for this: CRAZY!
  •
If things like this would happen in the U.S. maby people would buy less gas and save some money. the biggest problem with this, other than the prices are so high, is that when that one thing goes up so much all of the prices of everything will go up...

The War on marijuana and who's winning - 10 views

  •
This would for sure help our debt if they did end up legalizing it and taxing it!
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
Also if it was legal the government could regulate it, like they do alcohol. It'd make marijuana a lot safer.
  •
At the moment we are being told that we are winning the war by the gov't. But the truth is hiding behind the government. They wont tell us the truth because it would show a weakness. We are losing.
  •
how is cannabis not safe? more people die from alcohol related incidents a year than weed for sure, and weed cant poison people. so i vote yes! legalize it.
  •
I am actually surprised that the govt hasn't legalized it yet because the govt loves money and marijuana sales makes on average 1.5 billion dollars a year so in about 10 years (maybe) the USA could actually not be in debt.
  •
i dont see why marijuana is not legal anymore its actually funny how our first president grew marijuana as a cash crop

Are you better off than mom and dad? - 9 views

    people these days.

I think we are better of some ways then our parents were. However, things nowadays are far more complicated then they were back then. I know that now men are earning less then women are compared to what their parents were..but I think this is simply because men had started out with higher wages, I mean women weren't allowed to work for quite some time, and then when we were finally given a chance to work, our wages were pitiful...we've come a long way.

What is the illustrator trying to convey? What do the images represent?

i think that wall street is bringing attention to the middle class and the media doesnt like it
  •
The occupy wall street protest is bringing more attention to the middle class, and it's shocking the media. The illustrator is trying to show how it's all tied together in one way or another.
  •
I think that with all the "action" going on between wall street and the middle class, the media is shocked and is in disbelief.
  •
The Occupy movement is like the middle-class' prince charming, exactly what we want. The 1% on the other hand is trying to poison the middle class with lies and deception from the media which is made up of the 1%.
  •
The Occupy Wall Street movement is trying to revive the middle class in order increase their supporters to the full 99% it once was, but the 1% aka the media is like the wicked witch in Snow White that gave her the poisoned apple so she would be out of the way...and the media is upset that attention is being drawn back to them
  •
I think it's that occupy wall street has now involved the middle class and the media is appalled by it.
  •
I think it means that occupy wall street is trying to save the middle class and the media doesnt want to have it back.
  •
I think it means how the occupy wall street movement is bringing attention to the middle classes economic struggles, and the media doesn't want that to happen.
  •
I believe the cartoon is portraying that there is a connection between the Middle class and the wall street movement, and wall street is trying to revive the middle class. The media however, is not thrilled about the attention being brought to the middle class problems. So the media poisons the the other one percent into believing the lies and misleading comments to try getting their way.

No Warrant Needed for GPS Monitoring, Judge Rules | Threat Level | Wired.com - 4 views

no, this is wrong. the government should not be spending so much time tracking us. its fascist. The more we give our liberties away to the government, the more they are going to try and take. with how much peoples personal lives are wrapped up in electronics, it is imperative that we retain our rights. its just a invasion of privacy. either way, with the economy issue i think the last thing we should be wasting money on is recording where the johnson family went for vacation.

Obama wants to expand overtime pay - 1 views

  •
President Obama will ask the Labor Department on Thursday to issue tougher rules on overtime, which could lead to extra pay for millions of workers who aren't currently paid for extra hours of work.
  • ...2 more comments...
  •
I think people should get paid for overtime hours! I think that would be a great idea, it would encourage people to work more. Also, if people work more than they are suppose to, they should get rewarded, and I think paying them more would be a great reward.
  •
I think Obama realizes that some Americans work overtime, because they NEED too! Some families have trouble supporting themselves with the jobs they have. So, getting paid more for extra hours would help out a lot.
  •
I like that he is going to attempt at raising overtime pay and issuing tougher enforcement for them. Most people who work overtime because they probably need to get the extra money. The only downside to this raise I currently see just from what the article stated is how there will be a possibility of the companies and businesses possibly laying off workers to keep up with their own income.

    Good job, Obama!

The referendum, which is called the "1:12 initiative" and began after supporters gathered 100,000 signatures to put it on the ballot, is the kind of elegant solution to income inequality that we in the United States should consider more seriously.
