I don't understand why Putin is making a big deal of this, if it was anyone else he probably wouldn't mind and might even laugh behind closed doors. But because it's him it's a big issue?

I think Putin is definitely making a big deal out of one picture, if he doesn't want people to make fun of him or say what they want about him he shouldn't put himself in the spotlight.

Freedom of speech isn't much of a right in Russia, but clearly Putin has some insecurities if he went this far.

Why is this surprising at all? He is one of the most powerful rulers in the world why would he allow his people to mock him with pictures? Especially pictures depicting him as a gay clown. Not only is it disrespectful it is just dumb in my opinion.

Putin is taking this to the extreme. It was just people protesting what they believe in and he got so upset about it that he decided to put people in jail for it.

I think that this is being over dramatics. The picture is not harming anyone, people should not be put in jail over a stupid picture.

You can;t forget a baby. They will cry and you would know if you loved and cared about your child as to if they would still be in the car or not.

If you forget about having your baby in the car, then that's just considered bad parenting and she should just be charged.

New parents have been shown to be more forgetful right at first because of the huge change in life that they don't realize it. But this is going way to far with it, death happened, usually it's only for a minute not long enough for an infant to die.

i don't feel like it was on accident i think they meant to do it but they didn't mean to be gone as long but time just didn't intend for anything wrong to happen

I find the reason to be incredibly sketchy, but I do believe the mother did not mean to kill her child. Perhaps she left her child in the car and meant to only for a small amount of time but forgot?

If she said she really dropped him off at the daycare center she would have been conscious of taking him there. Also there should be footage of her dropping him off. If it shows she never showed up, shes obviously lying about that instance and there is more to the story.

okay first off, if you need your purse or something material in the back to remember you have a baby, you shouldn't have one. second off, what the heck did she do when she went to the daycare? how did she imagine giving the baby over to the daycare or something?

my opinion, i would have went off of what the tattoo said because i would have seen it as his wishes. he was pretty much gone when he arrived, plus there was no family with him. there was no one/nothing saying otherwise so i would have just let him go.

I would be lost but I think I would still resuscitate him because tattoos can sometimes be a regret and they had no way of knowing if it was legit or not.

I think it was a good call to wait until they had actual (documented) proof that he did not want to be resuscitated instead of just going off of the words on his body.

Personally, I find it very wise that the doctors would have guessed that he had been resuscitated in the past. Especially due to his old age and multiple problems. It was also wise of them to follow this mans wishes and let him go.

I think they did the right thing by not resuscitating him because tattoo's can sometimes be jokes but, no one would joke about this sort of thing. In addition to that he was nearly dead when he got there so it may have been easier for him.

I think it was a good choice to wait for documentation of him not wanting to be resuscitated.

I think that if the officers don't get sentenced the correct amount of time they deserve, more protests could break out and many people will be upset.

I think no matter what happens there will always be a protest or riot no matter what the decision is. The topic is so controversial that people will do anything to try and make their opinion right.

In general, Americans need undocumented workers. They are the ones who show up and actually need the money or else they have no home. They come to the US for a better life and work very hard, but get criticized essentially for not being born in the United States. I think he was justified, but I can see both sides. He was trying to protect people and in self-defense as he stated it's his job to protect everyone even those abroad. So, I think both sides have a right to their opinion.

Both side are going to pull their own narritive for who or what killed George Floyd however it is weird to see how the defense of the office pulled in the racial difference between the two.

Justice has been served in this case but if there was true justice George Floyd would still be alive. This is a good step but it's not nearly enough.

I don't think we should celebrate the bare minimum of putting away a murderer. While he is locked up, there are so many other's out there spreading the same harm and sharing the same narrative towards their fellow comrades. So many officers get away with a plethora of crimes, and some just stand by and watch. There can't be any"good ones" if they stand by and watch it happen without saying a word when they have the power to do so.

I agree with Sarai. There is so much racism that takes place in the police force, the death penalty, the government, and our overall society. People have fought against racism for decades. And winning one case, while it may be a starting point, is not something to celebrate when people of color have struggled so much.

I think it is good that we locked him up but I also think we need to do more about this kind of stuff. This stuff seems to happen often and something needs to be done about it.

The fact that a guilty verdict for Chauvin was even a surprise is a very bad thing it's good that there's finally some progress though.

I personally don't understand how people thought he would be not guilty. There is so much evidence proving him guilty, yet many were still shocked. My primary issue with the case is how it took someone to be killed for light to be shed on racism. There isn't complete justice, but we are getting pushed in the right direction.

I think they are rising more because people are getting used to covid now and kind of got less strict about the rules and are taking less precautions.

I believe that the number of cases is rising once again because the weather is getting colder, and viruses thrive in colder weather. I also think it's because people are starting to get used to covid as well and are getting too reckless.

No to mention its flu season so it's almost impossible to know if it's one or the other. It's also been said if you have the flu, but think it's covid and go to get a covid test, it could come out positive even though it's just the flu. Also, it's been proven that the covid test is only 90% or so effective and you can have a false test.

I agree with Abby I think that people are getting sick of having to deal with covid and just want it to be over. I think that this winter we will see a decrease in the number of other viruses and colds like the flu because we are wearing masks.

Going off of what Abby said, I also agree. I've seen many people walking without masks and not social distancing outside, and I think that's one of the main reasons the numbers are going to keep rising.

I think it's because we have stopped taking covid seriously, we still have parties and only wear masks when we are required to wear them if it was up to us we wouldn't and I know because I go to parties and no one including me wears masks, not proud of it but it's true, no one takes it seriously unless they're affected by it.

At the start of COVID, everyone was so much more worried about it. The US immediately went into lockdown, schools closed, and the whole country became a ghost town. Once the CDC released more info to the public about this new virus, however, people stopped worrying as much as they should've been. It flipped from 3 cases and mass hysteria to 25M cases and a more lax attitude. Everyone is tired of this, it's been a year and nothing feels right anymore, so as a society we want to rush into the afterparty and return to our normal lives. But as it's the winter months and COVID hasn't gone away yet, now is especially not the time to ignore the virus. Overall, the cases are still rising because we are letting it happen.

Considering the United States has the highest number of COVID-19 cases on the globe, there should be more light towards getting this over and working towards not having to deal with it at all. Like New York, the entire United States, like other countries, should have done a national lockdown which would have definitely stopped the spread of the cases if fewer people were going out and about. Working towards staying at home and being more cautious will help in the long run.

Well, this is a bit outdated, and I'd like to know what the statistics are now. However, since the U.S. economy was dropping, I don't think they had much of a choice but to drop the quarantine. Plus, there is a lot of people who aren't educated about the effects of covid, and what it could do to people who have weak immune systems.

I definitely agree with the article because by sending hundreds of thousands of kids back to school and in small hallways and classrooms it was destined to increase the spread even with masks. Tables, door knobs, and rails are hard to keep sanitized consistently. It also says that the ages of 18-22 Covid cases increased by 55% nationally.

Honestly, the mandate is lifted (for Iowa at least) so if you do not want to wear a mask, vaccinated or not you shouldn't have to. It is your choice. And you should especially not have to have the vaccine to travel and put something in your body not proven to be safe or cause long-term effects. There are bigger problems to worry about than if Americans will lie and say they're vaccinated to not wear their mask especially if it's not mandated in the area.

I wonder how the government is going to force non vaccinated people to wear a mask. It is real easy to just say you're vaccinated when you really aren't.

i don't think that people will be honest about their vaccinations only to not wear their mask. not everyone carries their vaccination card with them(although we should, i know i don't)

I have still seen people on social media that have admitted to not wearing masks and not getting vaccinated citing "My body, my choice". This is idiotic and people think that the government is out to get them and control them by wanting them to wear masks and getting the vaccine. There are also people who don't trust the vaccine for no good reason.

I don't think many people are out there being honest. Many are going to think that if it isn't required why would they wear one? It's a lot of trust on something you don't have a definite answer for.

People are going to lie about being vaccinated, just like they lie about having a medical exemption. All we can do is hope that people will be honest.

I'm not too sure how I feel about the new vaccine. I've heard things about it and to me it just seems suspicious. There are so many diseases in the world that scientists have spent years up on years researching and still having made a vaccine. In just one year we have a vaccine for Covid-19. that's just a little suspicious to me.

I think it is good that the vaccine is now ready for use. It is also good that health care workers are getting it first because I feel like they have the highest chance of getting covid due to being in the hospital around many sick people.

I think the vaccine is too dangerous, there have already been people who volunteered to take it and they basically became paralyzed. Also, I think it came out way too fast vaccines usually take years to test and make sure theyŕe safe to use and actually work. Yes, the vaccine may work but that doesn´t necessarily mean it´s safe.

What if they don't work and we just end up getting all our nurses killed with the vaccines? Jk I don't think they'll kill people but I also have my suspicions on how it was made so fast.

I think it's really great that we are able to give our frontline workers the sources they need to be able to keep helping and taking care of the pandemic. And although it was kind of fast for a vaccine to have been made, I'd like to believe that it will help.

The reason that I believe this is because Trump is most likely going to survive coronavirus because he is getting the best medical care around. I think that Trump didn't believe in COVID-19 until it actually happened to him and I hope that he will be more empathetic toward Americans going through this too. It did say he was symptomatic and that he is at high risk so there's a possibility that he might not make it.

I think now that Trump has COVID-19 his political campaign will be impacted. He will need to be in quarantine for at least 2 weeks and with so few days left until the election, his campaign will be at least a little bit impacted. Even though he has COVID-19 I don't think his outlook on it will change at all.

Hopefully, Trump is less insensitive to those who have COVID or have a family member who has had it and realizes how real and bad the virus can really be.

I think it's ironic how after he's been saying for months that masks don't work and that the pandemic is a hoax that he contracts COVID. But even though he does have corona, he still isn't taking it serious. He's taking off his mask two days after the diagnosis in front of a sea of reporters and I just think it's despicable.

It sounds like he is starting to take precautions and is learning from previous choices he may have made.

I think that Trump is going to continue to take advice from the scientists but he is going to do what he feels is needed to "protect himself" from the Corona Virus. This doesn't mean he isn't going to not follow the ppe guidelines fro when in public.
