Everyone in this group should use stumble upon to find resources for this group. You can narrow your stumbles to only one subject. I have mine set only to graphic design. With stumble upon you install a button on your browser when you press the buttton it takes you to a random site related to your interest.

Some sweet links here despite the name (AnimeKandi.org...) I went through a couple of the illustration links and was pleased. I didn't find any anime. This is worth exploring.

JungleJar | 11 Free Desktop Graphic Editors of Quality - 0 views

This article features some of the more useful and free desktop graphics editors I've come across whether you're creating/editing an icon, a vector file or otherwise. I hope that everyone finds this article useful, and I also hope that it's read before you shell out $300 for a commercial graphic editor elsewhere. What you will not find in this article are the more well known image editing applications such as The Gimp

JungleJar | ProFolio - Free and Professional Portfolio - 0 views

  •
ProFolio is a professional ready to go portfolio that is perfectly suitable for both a personal portfolio or a more professionally oriented portfolio. Essentially anyone that wants an easy yet customizable way to display their graphical presentations such as photographs, digital art, web designs, etc would most likely be content with this software. Currently ProFolio is free, but the developers behind the software have been saying for as long as I've been aware of ProFolio that at some point in the somewhat near future they will be charging for further downloads. So, I wouldn't drag my feet too long before I gave this one a try.

Ways of seeing - Google Books - 1 views

Borrowed this book from a local library a couple of weeks ago. To be honest, it's a bit shocking to me 'cause this book offers a new and quite thought-provoking perspective that helps me to interpret art in a way I have never imagined. Here is another website that gathers few paragraphs from the last chapter about how publicity disguises itself in the form of art and influences our daily life physically and mentally.

This is a great book and it's stood the test of time quite well. Another book I read recently called Do Good Design by David Berman reminded me of Berger's book. In many ways they are very similar but Berman's book focuses entirely on graphic design and directly challenges designers to take responsibility for the culture they create. http://www.davidberman.com/social/dogood.php

JungleJar | 21 Elegant And Inspiring Minimalistic Logo Designs - 0 views

  •
If you've been a reader of JungleJar for any length of time now, or you tend to stop by just to check on our Wordpress Templates, then you most likely know that minimalism is my thing. I love the classy, elegant and aesthetically dramatic feeling a clean and relatively 'simple' design can articulate with as little text / graphics as possible. However, don't mistake minimalism design for something that is easily done..

Cognition and the visual arts - Google Books - 0 views

  •
In this first systematic study of the connection between the new cognitive psychology and its importance to art, Solso reflects on the long relationship between humankind and art, observing that "mind and art are one."
  •
This looks like a good book. I think it's important to have information like this on hand when one is dealing with bureaucratic bodies intent on narrowing or cutting art programs. Art making and education is tied in a very important way to our cognitive growth and development as human beings.
