IBM Makes Quantum Computing Available on IBM Cloud - 1 views

  •
IBM for the first time ever is making quantum computing available to the public, providing access to a quantum processor via the cloud. Users can create algorithms and run experiments and get inspired by the possibilities of a quantum computer.
  •
Looks interesting.. Have you tried it?
  •
Mathias Troyer from ETH Zurtich gave a talk in Leiden where he showed what he wants to be the replacement to this IBM programming or the best ally of it - program quantum computers with, for instance, python code. Nice developments coming from the quantum coding field, besides the fact we are ages away from a practical quantum computer.

Black Hole Power: How String Theory Idea Could Lead to New Thermal-Energy Harvesting Te... - 0 views

  •
A new class of exotic materials could find its way into next-generation technologies that efficiently convert waste heat into electrical current according to new research. Both the exotic materials and the means by which they generate electricity rely on a hybrid of advanced concepts-including string theory combined with black holes combined with cutting-edge condensed matter physics.

lol, while ESA is sending around memos and its managers are spending time talking about validation and verification of AI methods ... US / DARPA is already 5-6 years ahead. Hopefully the ACT can contribute to this with our DA based approach ....

    Blockchains, now with more buzzwords!
  •
Time travel! Finally. Can we also use it for antigravity?

Fooling automated surveillance cameras: adversarial patches to attack person detection - 3 views

  •
beautiful! anybody knows of similar trials to fool EO data classifiers?
  •
I am not aware of any similar trials, yet this study remind me of generative adversarial talking heads https://arxiv.org/pdf/1803.07716.pdf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1b5aiTrGzY

Machine Learning for Accelerated and Inverse Metasurface Design - 0 views

  •
If you have 45 minutes and you want to learn a bit about inverse design of metasurfaces using machine learning, then I would highly recommend this talk. I found it very easy to follow both the physics and machine learning parts of it.
