The Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History provides an overview of the history of art as illustrated and represented in the Museum's collection. The material presented here has been researched, written, and reviewed by the Museum's curatorial staff. It serves as an important reference and research tool for anyone interested in studying art history and related subjects such as archaeology, anthropology, and history.

The 12 different lesson plans were written by the teachers themselves, so you can be sure each one has already been tested and found to bring a satisfying classroom learning experience.

Wire Sculpture makes a great lesson to teach with no examples, no photographs, and no demonstrations - only some good open questions, careful verbal explanations, careful observation, and plenty of preliminary hands on practice and artistic thinking. We CAN encourage thinking habits that imitate the artistic process - not imitate another artist's work.
