Every industry other than the technology industry has a lot of women working in them. But the technology industry is lagging behind with a very small percentage of women entering in. In a study made upon around 132 companies which employ almost 4.6million people. Whenever women has entered the tech industry  they have been outvoted by the number of men in the industry and they lose ground when they try to climb up the system. Even the leading SEO companies have more women employees than men, and most of them follow gender parity.  Although women are accounted for only 36% of the positions in the tech industry, the percentage level keeps going down as in the managerial level there are only 31% of women and it is only 19% at the C-suite level, even lower.

Gender Inequality arises in Tech and Digital Industries

According to research conducted over gender inequality in technology and digital industry, it emphasized the inequality the men and women across the digital sector, which involved all specialists to marketers. At the beginning of the year 2016, it was reported that a female digital specialist earns less than her male colleagues, and for a women in a general digital marketing role, the salary is still less than that of men who are doing the same amount of work. Due to gender inequality, the digital sector has been experiencing a digital skill gap, and it has been featured that today the jobs require digital skills and proposes that they are in need of around 7 lakh workers who are acquainted with the work and skills of digital specialist or a manager, only this way the demand of the industry can be fulfilled till the year 2017.

Another research was conducted on the monetary gains that can be made by the US states if women gains full gender equality in the labour force. There is a group in support of the women in the US known as "The power of parity: Advancing women's equality in the United States" which estimates that altogether more than $4 trillion could be added to the US economy by the end of the year 2025 if gender equality can be fully achieved. If we talk about the women in the workplace struggling for an equal position and then attempting to climb the corporate ladder, the data is more or less ridiculous. Moreover, quite many times it is observed by the women employees that the CEO's of their companies do not take interest in making their workplaces equal and things do not really seem to move towards the right direction.
