"As you may or may not know, annual technology jamboree is currently taking place deep in the Nevada desert (that's Las Vegas folks) and that means all manner of wonderous electronical stuff will be being unveiled by the great and good from within the industry. Always ones to appreciate a nice bit of gadgetry, we've been keeping an ear to the ground in case any hot gossip emerges, rumours are quashed or confirmed or any surprise tech trinkets make themselves known. Here's what's been going down this past couple of days …"

"Computer software giants IBM is teaming up with HTC in a bid to make Android a more attractive platform for the enterprise market."

"As keen mobile watchers may have noticed, Sony Ericsson has recently become just Sony and all forthcoming devices will be branded as such, dispensing with the Ericsson bit that used to adorn the kit the company made. Following the release of the Xperia S a few weeks back, the newly single Sony let slip news of a new smartphone, known as the Sony Kumquat and described as an affordable Sony smartphone."

"Those Canadians have been having a bit of a tough time of late. First it was getting blamed for helping the riots kick off last summer, then it was the infamous BBM outage that hacked off users no end, followed by further customer irritation engendered by the non-appearance of their new BB10-powered blowers"
