Hi again! Last day in class, we had seen the TPR's method and searching on the internet I have found very attractive slides.
This method attempts to center attention to encouraging learners to listen and respond to the spoken target language commands of their teachers. TPR is a language teaching method built around coordination of speech and action. Imperative drills are the prominent classroom activity in TPR.
Also, in TPR the teachers are responsible for giving commands and monitoring actions taken by the learners. On the contrary, the learners are imitators of teacher's verbal and non-verbal models.
On the other hand, TPR has some advantages:
- It is a lot of fun. Learners enjoy it, and this method can be a real stirrer in the class. It lifts the pace and the mood.
- It is good for kinaesthetic learners who are required to be active in the class.
- It is very effective with teenagers and young learners, etc.
I attach this link for know more about this method:

Hi Julia! I found this post very interesting :) I want to share with you this video where Herbert Puchta tells an action story to their students - an imaginative idea developed by him and Gerngross Günter about how to use TPR with younger learners.

I really liked this one, it will be very helpful! I am one of those who always wants to know WHY I should use a certain technique etc, and this provide just that:)
Hi guys!
this is a video with a visul aid to a lecture given by sir Ken Robinson, he talks about the school sistem of today and how it used to be, how children learn and how we should assess them, how and what to teach, and about ADHD. It is only 11 minutes long, and you can also find it in Spanish if you search for "Cambiando los paradigmas".
Enjoy:)
We watched that same video last year at college. Since then, I've been looking for more of Ken Robinson's stuff, he's a great lecturer. We should take into account all of his ideas to become good teachers.
This website provide different strategies for assess. I consider it is very interesting because you can know different strategies for different moments in your lesson.
Useful strategies! I like the 'Traffic lights' one, it's a way for children to know if they've understood a certain content of the class, and it's fun for them, so they'll be willing to practice it.
Behavior management is very important in order to maintain an atmosphere that enhances learning. We already know some strategies that can help us to create and maintain this atmosphere. Here you can find some frequent mistakes that we as a future teacher should avoid. I think it is helpful to know not only what we should do but also what we shouldn´t do, as inexperience teachers.
Interesting article. I know a few school teachers who should read it. For example, we all know teachers who threaten students with getting them out of the class, or not letting them go out at lunchtime. Intimidating children leads you nowhere, we should treat them with respect and involve no verbal violence ever.
I have just discovered this tool, I think it can be very useful for teachers. It is an online tool for collaborative whiteboards. It allows:
-Conduct brainstorming realtime collaboratively.
-Merge multiple screens, turning the board into a standard presentation "Prezi"
-Working with images stored in Google Drive
- Upload images
- Draw
- Write
- Put sticky notes
- Framing or placing figures
- Linking ideas and view it as a slideshow.
- Chat with collaborators
- Etc
