Culture Grid opens up a wealth of information from museums, galleries, libraries and archives: giving greater access to UK culture, arts and heritage. The Culture Grid is a new and unique online service from Collections Trust, the UK's independent organisation for collections. It enables more people to find out about and go on to visit and engage with the wonders within UK collections: improving the visibility, impact and value of all kinds of collections.

Ziel der Deutschen Digitalen Bibliothek (DDB) ist es, jedermann über das Internet freien Zugang zum kulturellen und wissenschaftlichen Erbe Deutschlands zu eröffnen, also zu Millionen von Büchern, Archivalien, Bildern, Skulpturen, Musikstücken und anderen Tondokumenten, Filmen und Noten. Als zentrales nationales Portal soll die DDB perspektivisch die digitalen Angebote aller deutschen Kultur- und Wissenschaftseinrichtungen miteinander vernetzen. Mit der DDB soll Deutschland seine Anschluss- und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in Wissenschaft, Forschung und Bildung sichern, aber auch sein einzigartiges kulturelles Erbe und Wissen für jedermann komfortabel über einen zentralen Anlaufpunkt zugänglich machen. Durch die zentrale Zugänglichkeit, also indem an jedem PC-Arbeitsplatz mit Internetanschluss unabhängig von Ort und Zeit Zugang zur gesamten erforderlichen Information geschaffen wird, werden die Recherchemöglichkeiten in Forschung, Lehre und Wirtschaft grundlegend verbessert.

The Copyright Advisory Network (CAN) exists to help librarians understand copyright law and appreciate the important role that they can play in serving the public. We use the Network to respond to copyright questions posed by librarians, but perhaps-more importantly, help librarians learn about copyright from a broader perspective, primarily its impact on information policy issues fundamental to our profession, including free expression, equitable access to information, censorship, and intellectual freedom.

The Lantern is the name of the search engine that lets you search through more than 2,000,000 pages of scanned copies of the books and magazines in the MHDL. In those books and magazines you will find reviews and critiques of movies, radio programs, and television shows. You will also discover many periodicals about the movie, television, and radio industries in general.

The GPP is a ten-year interdisciplinary project to digitise, conserve, catalogue, transcribe, interpret and disseminate 425,000 pages or 65,000 items in the Royal Archives and Royal Library relating to the Georgian period, 1714-1837. The ultimate goal of the Programme is to provide a unique digital resource which is both readily accessible to members of the public and capable of sophisticated manipulation by researchers in any discipline, and to offer academic and public programming representing fresh research and interpretation.
