The Sensex soared 200 points to end at 27,317 and the Nifty surged 50 points to close at 8,225. Indian benchmark indices ended higher in response the balanced budget presented by the Finance Minister. Sensex was up 141.4 points or 0.5% at 29361.5, while Nifty was up 57.3 points or 0.6% at 8901.9. US stocks closed mixed, with stocks near recent highs, as concerns about oil prices and a worse-than-expected initial jobless claims figure weighed on investor sentiment. DJIA was down 81.7 points or -0.4% at 18132.7.

Today, the 30-share index was trading at 25,965,went up 5 points or 0.02 per-cent. It reached a high of 26000.24 & a low of 25,953.25 in early morning trade.

The 50-share Nifty index is expected to open soft on Tuesday tracking mixed Asian markets and the index may test its crucial psychological level of 6150 in trade today.

Sensex fell 8.41 points to 26622.10 and the Nifty fell by 6.20 points and trading at 7958.60. BSE Midcap and Smallcap stock rose 0.2 percent each. Tech shares have buying trend. TCS,Infosys, Wipro rallied 1-3 percent.
