iPhone4 is in the stores and so are the complaints for some flaws. The biggest one is related to the antenna, placed on the left. If you are left handed and hold the iPhone as a left handed, then the antenna can't get the signal... Some early users (see video) claim this is due to a software problem.
Another issue is related to scratches. Apparently the new iPhone scratches very easily.
On YouTube and forums there are reviews and unboxing videos, and of course a lot of them are reporting minor or major issues in the new iPhone4.
Apple, in a little bit of a surprise move, has posted video of today's iPhone 4 press conference. They also put up an extensive smartphone antenna performance page that compares smartphone antennas.
Nokia has responded to the iPhone 4 antenna controversy saying that they 'prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict.' Pretty interesting stuff.
Wondering how Apple plans on dealing with this iPhone 4 antenna issue? Look no further than these leaked instructions telling AppleCare reps what to say to customers who complain.
If you want to test your iPhone antenna reception very precisely, you can use the field test mode to do so. iPhone 4 owners, you probably want to check this out.
Apple has three job openings for iPhone antenna engineers. Is this just a strange coincidence or is this admitting that there are signal issues with the iPhone 4?
Steve Jobs has responded to an angry iPhone 4 owner's emails and again has denied that antenna issues exist claiming that they are rumor. Hmm, well, that's interesting.
Apple has announced that it will be ending the free iPhone 4 Case Program starting September 30th. Apparently the iPhone 4 antenna problem is even smaller then they originally thought.
With RIM, HTC and even Nokia responding to Apple's iPhone 4 press conference, it was only a matter of time before Samsung issued a statement. That day has arrived.
Is the iPhone 4 antenna driving you nuts? Don't want to pay $30 for a bumper case from Apple? Well, there is a simple, cheap, and good looking way to solve your problem.
