Why Apple is Kicking Everyone's Ass - The Real Cost of Software Development is Usabilit... - 0 views

  • Apple understand the user’s mind. Their design is about thinking things that is not needed rather than cramping in more and more stuff like Microsoft. Just compares Microsoft Office with Apple’s iWork. You see gazillion icons and menus in Office that you don’t bother to use and clutter the screen, while in iWorks, it has only few icons.

What to Do When Microsoft Windows Vista Wont Shut Down Cau - 0 views

  •
One of the most irritating and sometimes recurring problems in Windows Vista is that it wont shut down no matter how many times you try. It may also start to reboot when you try to turn off the PC. You are in a major fix when such problem arises as the PC wont shut down or restart and your project may be stuck in between. Else, you might see a blue screen without letting you make any progress further with the PC. If you are a non-geek, you will resort to contacting a local repair shop for fixing the problem. Even if you are a computer geek than the recurrence of this problem will irritate and you might look forward to get a permanent fix or at least some handy settings that make you fix this problem next time it occurs.............

Yet another reason why Macs need security software | Security - CNET News - 0 views

  •
According to the X-Force 2008 Trend & Risk Report (PDF) released early this year, Mac OS X Server and Mac OS X top the list of operating systems with the most disclosed vulnerabilities for 2008. Each accounts for 14.3 percent, and has been in the top five in each of the last three years. Rounding out the top five were: Linux Kernel at 10.9 percent, Sun Solaris at 7.3 percent, and Microsoft Windows XP at 5.5 percent. The purpose of this data is to compare the total number of disclosed vulnerabilities with each individual operating system. Vulnerability data is submitted to the Mitre Corp. and then appears in the CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) List.
