Global SchoolNet's Projects Registry (PR) is the oldest (1995) and largest online clearinghouse for teacher-conducted global learning projects. The PR contains more than 3,000 annotated listings - and is searchable by date, age level, geographic location, collaboration type, technology tools or keyword. The PR is a central place for educators to find global partners and announce projects.

Global Run is a community of students and teachers engaged in inter-national service-learning in support of the United Nations' Millennium Development goals. The Global Run pilot project addresses the many challenges teachers have in trying to "fit in" global awareness and character education into standards based curriculum.

In 2006, following extensive research into the educational potential of virtual worlds, Global Kids became the first nonprofit to develop a dedicated space for conducting programming in the virtual world of Teen Second Life (TSL). The Global Education Collaborative is an online community for teachers and students who are interested in joining global education projects. With more than 800 members, the site encourages users to post media, blogs, and ideas for advancing collaborative education worldwide.

ThinkQuest Newswire Announcement: Students from 13 countries took top honors in this year's ThinkQuest International 2008 Competition. The competition is utilized by teachers to engage their students in developing critical skills for life and work in the 21st century.This year's winning teams collaborated in the research, writing and creation of websites on educational topics ranging from mathematics to promoting tolerance and preventing bullying.

ThinkQuest International 2008 included 972 teams from 60 countries and the winning entries included students from Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam. Each team had approximately eight months to complete their final websites. The submissions were then reviewed by an international panel of volunteer judges who selected the winners in each of the three age divisions. The judges also awarded the "Global Perspectives" prize to the team best exemplifying respect for diversity and recognition of global interdependence.

Inconvenient Youth, a new non-profit, non-partisan network for and by teens has started recruiting and training young people to fight global warming, according to an Aug. 15 press release.
