NCDC conducted a survey of International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) members last April to gain insight into educators' understanding of digital citizenship and classroom needs. This web site was developed by Mike Ribble, co-author of Digital Citizenship in the Schools. He covers the 9 areas of Digital Citizenship that are outlined in the book and offers many examples of how educators can begin the process of teaching their students how to use technology more appropriately. These resources can be used by any anyone who is interested in helping students or others better understand appropriate technology use.

The following articles originally appeared in one of ISTE's publications: our flagship magazine, Learning & Leading with Technology (L&L), the Journal of Research on Technology in Education, or the Journal of Research in Computing Education. This sampling of articles dealing with digital citizenship and related issues will be available to the general public for a limited time.

Microsoft offers this free digital citizenship curriculum to educators. The four units of study are all related to creative rights. They are downloadable as PDF files and include pre- and post-assessment materials. The program is aligned with ISTE Standards and the American Association of School Libraries. It is also endorsed by the National Council on Economic Education.
