Cytoplasm can be defined as the material or protoplasm within a living cell, excluding the nucleus, according to Apple Inc. Dictionary. Or in other words the jell like stuff that surrounds nucleus in our cells. The main Job of this is to keep everything in place to be a storage place for chemicals.

Ideas about cell structure have changed considerably over the years. Early biologists saw cells as simple membranous sacs containing fluid and a few floating particles. Today's biologists know that cells are infinitely more complex than this. There are many different types, sizes, and shapes of cells in the body.

Carrier Proteins- binding site on protein surface "grabs" certain molecules and pulls them into the cell, (gated channels) 3. Receptor Proteins - molecular triggers that set off cell responses (such as release of hormones or opening of channel proteins) 4.

Like all other cellular membranes, the plasma membrane consists of both lipids and proteins. The fundamental structure of the membrane is the phospholipid bilayer, which forms a stable barrier between two aqueous compartments. In the case of the plasma membrane, these compartments are the inside and the outside of the cell.

Cells are the basic building blocks of all living things. The human body is composed of trillions of cells. They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions. Cells also contain the body's hereditary material and can make copies of themselves.

Cell membranes also contain cholesterol in the phospholipid bilayer. In some membranes there are only a few cholesterol molecules, but in others there are as many cholesterols as phospholipids according to Audesirk & Audesirk. Cholesterol makes the bilayer stronger, more flexible but less fluid, and less permeable to water-soluble substances such as ions and monosaccharides.

All living organisms on Earth are divided into cells. The main concept of cell theory is that cells are the basic structural unit for all organisms. Cells are small compartments that hold the biological equipment necessary to keep an organism alive and successful.

The cell membrane is a thin semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm of a cell, enclosing its contents. Its function is to protect the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping other substances out.

With few exceptions, cellular membranes - including plasma membranes and internal membranes - are made of glycerophospholipids, molecules composed of glycerol, a phosphate group, and two fatty acid chains. Glycerol is a three-carbon molecule that functions as the backbone of these membrane lipids.

The secondary walls of woody tissue and grasses are composed predominantly of cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose (xylan, glucuronoxylan, arabinoxylan, or glucomannan).
