Have you ever walked down the tunnel of a stadium and have the stands open up in front of you, smelling the new cut grass? Well, have you ever wondered how those are made, I will be telling you how the Olympic stadiums are made. The first thing is that the city knows if it is going to be in the Olympics or not. They get their money and start building before the Olympics before it is going on. That is when they start.
They first have to get the money by taxes or fundraisers, or even donations to the committee. Then they get the people to make it, they first make a foundation. Then start making s frame. At this time there is the aquatic center being built too. That is much harder to do when water is involved.
According to Livestrong.com the pool for the Olyimpics is 164 feet long, 82ft wide and 6ft deep and 660,235.09 gallons of water. And each lane is 8.2 feet long. It takes them 7 hours to full the pool. And the water bill goes through the roof. The pool has to be specially heated so mold does not build. The cameras have to be specially made and have to be water proof.
The track in the stadium has a special paint that does not come off in the weather and can go up to very hot temperatures, this stadium hold 25,000 people, that means that you could fit 4 Olympic stadiums in the biggest Southeastern Conference football stadium. The capacity is not the biggest thing, the details of the stadiums were the hardest thing.
They have to have moveable floors that can go in and out of the stadium. Like the Fedex form does. They even do it in the Cardinals stadium.
So I hope you leave here with a better understanding of the Olympic stadiums. You might have not known how they were built and how they were paid for. I might want to be an architect later in life. See you next time! bye.
