"This session (which will be presented at iPad Summit and Region 20 Tech Fiesta) focuses on how elementary teachers can use a single iPad productively:
in multiple settings and configurations such as whole group, pass around, small groups, and stations
using both consumptive and product-based apps
showcasing actual student work and app-tivities across the curriculum"
"I approached the iPad with one goal in mind: I wanted to become fluent in using it. There is a distinct difference, in my opinion, between being skilled, literate and fluent in the use of an iPad." Silvia Rosenthal Tolisano
If we are to get the most for student learning from mobile technology like the iPad or other tablets we need to move beyond the question 'Is there an App for that?'
Today, however, we are presnting to you a work we have been laboriously working on for quite some time. It is about Blooms Taxonomy apps for the iPad. We have come up with apps relevant to each thinking level in this taxonomy. We have selected only the featured apps in each category which means that there are more apps to include but the ones we have mentioned are among the best.
"One of the hardest things with using the iPad in the classroom is finding the time to go through all of the apps in the iTunes Store listed under the education banner. We have started to list some of the apps we've found under each of the Key Learning Areas."
"Our students at Westlake High, a large suburban school on the outskirts of Austin, TX, are using them to read ebooks, download assignments, edit videos, write blog posts, and to do much more." Caroyn Foote
