Storeに出向いて、アプリケーションの配布やDRMに関する質問を担当者に浴びせかけるというキャンペーンも展開した。これまでMicrosoftを宿敵としてきたフリーソフトウェア陣営だが、Appleの影響力が拡大していることを懸念する声も出始めているようだ。
また、ダウンロード数が実際の利用につながっているかを疑問視する声もある。GigaOMの記事は、iPhoneアプリケーションの分析を開発したPinch
Mediaが集計したアプリケーションの返却率（アプリあたりの1日ユニークユーザー数の20％以下）、利用時間（1回5分以下、1日に利用するアプリ数は平均1.2など）などをあげ、利用状況はそれほどではない、との見方を示している。アプリケーションを購入する前に試用できないことを問題視する声もある。

Storeの収益性について、「クレジットカード会社へのコミッションや維持費などを考えると、30％の取り分では大きな収益を生まない」と述べているが、The New
