Watch out Apple iPhone, Google's mobile operating system, Android continues to increase its popularity at a growth rate of 32 percent year over year, according to a recent report. Mobile advertising provider and metrics firm AdMob, recently acquired by Google for $750 million, released on Tuesday its March 2010 Mobile Metrics Report that includes some interesting data about the growth of the Android operating system. The report also adds more fuel to the argument that Google's Nexus One really might be a successful flop.

We've recently installed software that will display our site in a modified, faster to load (and we hope improved) format for modern browsers like those used in iPhones, iPod Touches and Android phones, among others. About 2% of our site's visits are currently from iPhones and iPod Touches, and that's likely to increase.

While the global spread of Apple's iPhone is still increasing, it would appear the touch-screen smartphone is losing its gloss in existing markets. Specifically, the tech gurus over at Time magazine have just released their Top 10 Gadgets of 2009 list, and the iPhone has been deposed by Motorola's Droid handset.

MOBILE PHONE MAKER Motorola Mobility posted a modest profit even though the firm missed its smartphone sales targets for the fourth quarter of 2010.
