Watch the YouTube video that describes this site. I am excited about the possibilities of creating a quiz for online students--there are 3 different option of types of quizzes.

The MIT Video website aggregates and curates video produced by the Institute's offices, laboratories, centers and administration. This includes feature and editorial videos, event recordings, academic content and more.
I learned about this site from my Living Book report by Curtis Bonk. Excellent resource for finding videos on a variety of topics.
Share this one with your students! Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive, and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others.
Daphne Koller is enticing top universities to put their most intriguing courses online for free -- not just as a service, but as a way to research how people learn. With Coursera (cofounded by Andrew Ng), each keystroke, quiz, peer-to-peer discussion and self-graded assignment builds an unprecedented pool of data on how knowledge is processed. WATCH THIS 20 MIN. VIDEO, IT WILL ENHANCE YOUR THINKING ABOUT ONLINE LEARNING!
Prezi is a cloud based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and the connections between them. The result: visually captivating presentations that lead your audience down a path of discovery.
I have been using prezi for the past 3 years and with each update there is a shorter learning curve. More creative than power point presentations. MOT students who are more "right" brained and more global than linear in their thinking and learning seem to embrace the prezi format.
Glog Presentations! Share student or teacher projects
in Class, School, District or Beyond Once projects are complete, the
teacher can share students’ work in a variety of educational settings. Glogs can
be embedded in a blog, wiki, or web page or shared with others using Glogster
EDU’s innovative presentation capabilities. Choose exemplar student projects and
demonstrate students’ achievements with parents, administrators, students, and
other educators.
Expand Digital Literacy Glogster EDU creates
a digital learning environment, where teachers and students learn technology in
an easy to use and scalable format that simplifies the educational process and
produces assessable multi-modal results across the curriculum spectrum.
Promote Independent Problem Solving Glogster
EDU creates an adaptable and innovative learning environment for all learners,
regardless of age, gender, culture or learning style. Students are encouraged to
be independent, inventive problem solving and lifelong learners.
Provide Differentiated Instructional Activities
Glogster EDU’s differentiated format promotes a positive balance between

A "well-built" question should include four parts, referred to as PICO
that identify the patient problem or population (P),
intervention (I), comparison (C) and
outcome(s) (O). 1
Primary Problem
Patient's main concern
or chief complaint
Disease or health status
Age, Race, Sex, Previous
ailments, current medications
Excellent resource for students learning to write a PICO question. Thought this could come up in online research-related courses. The example is directly related to the dental population, but easy to follow.
27 videos by Curtis Bonk on the topic of how to teach online. Each is approximately 8-10 mins. Three of my favorites that I "captured" are #24-Global Connections & Collaborations, #19- Wiki Uses & Applications, #13-Blended Learning: The Future.
Crossword puzzles can be created and uploaded for online learners and are an excellent method for learning educational content and spelling of terms, etc.
The website allows students to create an avatar that represents their personality by choosing hair style/color, skin color, clothing and accessories. The site is a fun and unique way to ask students to introduce themselves. I noticed that one student in this class used an avatar for her profile picture.
I just went on the site, set up an account and created an avatar. We used these in Jenny Fogo's class and then wrote a description of ourselves which we posted as our introduction!

Venn Diagram - The Venn Diagram
app allows users to compare and contrast information in a visually appealing
way. Sounds like a 21st Century Skill useful from fine arts to applied science.
Doodle Splash - Doodle Splash
combines the process of drawing with analytical thinking by pairing online
drawing with writing prompts that encourage students to make connections between
their visual designs and the text. What a wonderful way for students to explore
concepts in all subject areas.
Flip Book - The Flip Book is
designed to allow users to type and illustrate tabbed flip books up to ten pages
long. Students and teachers can use the flip book for taking notes while
reading, making picture books, collecting facts, or creating question and answer
booklets. This applies across the curriculum.
ReadWriteThink Notetaker - Useful
for a wide variety of reading and writing activities, this outlining tool allows
students to organize up to five levels of information. After all… almost every
class involves some note taking.
Welcome to a post that examines an amazing free collections of educational digital interactive programs and apps. You are sure to find something that will fit your classroom in the very near future...
Brainstorm online with bubbl.us. Easily create colorful mind maps to print or share with others. Almost no learning curve. Businesses, universities, and other schools are using bubbl.us worldwide to generate ideas, map out processes and create presentations.
I have used this site with my MOT students at UIndy when they return from analyzing workers at Costco. We consolidate their responses on this site, i.e., we use a different bubble to represent each dept. at Costco, i.e., Membership, Scanning, Tire Center, Bakery and Meat Dept.
I imagine that it would be extremely effective for any "brainstorming" session that you might want to complete as an online exercise. I'm wondering whether it can be used in conjunction with Adobe Connect?
Merlot Collection made up of 40,000 materials in 19 different material type categories. Materials are submitted by members of MERLOT community. Membership is free. I just signed up as adjunct faculty member and this appears to be an excellent resource for online teaching and learning. I recall being exposed to it in Julie Gahimer's course on Instructional Design & Delivery, but have neglected to use it.
