This site archives early American documents, including the Declaration, Constitution, the first annual almanac, and maps. The part I like the best is a section called "How to Read a 200 Year Document." It has all kinds of frequently asked questions, such as why "s" looks like "f" in old documents. These could be really helpful for not only teachers, but students who are not used to the 17th century language.

Worldpress is imporant because I believe that its healthy to look outside of our own news and see a different take on the world. Its an important resource that I think is under used when students are looking for good articles to write about.

This site provides a huge database to access art.  It can be searched by artist, specific topics, or curriculum based.  It also has many different lesson plans to accompany the art.

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence offers primary resources in a variety of subjects. These resources are not limited to history. There are resources for arts, heath, language arts, math, and science.

Grades K-12. Easy to navigate. Student can explore space stations, astronaunt and more. Links to other data bases to related topics avalible.

Eyewitness:American Originals form the National Archives provides first-hand and personal testimonies of select historical events as told from the point-of-view of presidents: Jefferson, Washington, Truman, JFK, Bush Sr., John Adams, Carter, Eisenhower-as well as other influential individuals. This would be great for time period specific research projects. Easy to read and compact digital arrangements make this user friendly for young students, teens, and educators.

Digital History:Explorations is a resource with time period/theme specific "webquests" for both students and teachers. Primary source documents (photos, documents, letters, etc.) along with teacher resources and lesson plans make this an excellent multiple literacies must for teachers and school librarians.

Read.gov is a resource for accessing book information and reading lists, literature events, author webcasts, and local/community resources. This resource is appropriate for use by kids, teens, adults/parents, and educators. As a school librarian, I can see this resource as being valuable for lessons, educator collaboration, and student/family outreach.

Group of primary sources put together by the College of Education at the University of Florida.   Made for educators who value the use of primary sources in their classrooms.

Here students can learn more about inventors like Alexander Graham Bell, and the creativity that went into developing many of the things we use today.
