The vehicle will be a limited-edition passenger car, expected
to arrive in 2010. The electric motor is likely to be married to on-liter
clean-burning diesel. VW claims that together the two propulsion systems will achieve fuel economy
of one liter per 100 km (or 235 MPG). According to Technoride, the new diesel-hybrid is the 2.0 version of the 2002
640-pound concept, which "seated just two people in tandem (one behind the
other), and included a jetfighter-style canopy door and rear view cameras in
place of less-aerodynamic side mirrors."
