Hi All -

Let's try and keep sharing of resources in this group to things that are related to microblogging (i.e. Jaiku, Twitter). The intention is that this will be a one stop shopping mall for anything related to Twitter, so that people don't have comb through through individual collections.

Also, feel free to rate links, start discussions on links, and annotate them as you see fit. I think that's where the real power of Diigo lies!

If you're looking to share other kinds of resources, try Vicki Davis' educator Diigo group. Anything goes there! Or you can share links to your friends directly!

After some particularly lovely SPAM last week, I decided to take Maggie's advice and make membership moderated. People know have to be approved to join. I hope that does not hinder people from participating in our group!

To prevent / deter spam, I would like to bring this group setting option to your attention:

Instead of a public group opens to anyone, you may wish to set "who can join" to a "moderated" setting, which means that one needs to apply / request to be admitted to a group. You can change the setting in "Group Admin" > > Group Overview > > Who can join (Apply to join -- moderator approval required or By invitation only)

Your group is of great valuable resources, and we'd love to assist you to keep its high content quality. Ultimately the group owner and group members have the "responsibilities" to actively monitor, control the content (or actively remove inappropriate ones), etc. Group manager also has many group settings - like to invite you to read the "Group" in our Help to learn more about various options available to you.

Has there been a spam problem in this group so far? What prompted your post, Maggie?

Just a suggestion and FYI

Good resources here. Would you like us to feature your group? (Note: if a group is being featured, while it gets great exposure and attracts more like-minded folks, there is also the potential downside to attract some spam as well.) Just let us know if you're interested or not. Either way is fine.

The list will rotate. Any other good groups, Lists, Users, Site Communities, ... please kindly recommend. We would like to start more actively promoting good content, both through algorithm and through member referral / recommendation. Thanks

Thumb up is a group bookmark feature that we're experimenting. We're still evaluating thumb-up rating across the rest of Diigo bookmarking system since anti-spam is a concern. Rating should be meaningful to achieve its purpose - we thought voting in Groups, on the other hand, is more natural since it's already a better filtered env't and can provide value to group members when there are a lot of contributed resources.

Play with it and let us know what you think.
