Forty four Tallahassee Area Community property owners are slated as being the first population in the world to live within 500 feet of an active Uranium Mining program. The remainder of the community would be irreversibly, and irretrievably affected by a decision of our county to allow the mining project to move forward. The environment which we chose for our retirement years would be damaged and changed. We stand against the existence of an industrial mining operation in our agricultural/forestry neighborhood.

We believe that people cannot live inside an active uranium mining area safely; the two functions cannot coexist in the same area, at the same time.

The Ottawa Coalition Against Mining Uranium (OCAMU) is an Ottawa-based community association. Our mission is as follows:

We are a group of Ottawa citizens acting to ensure that Ottawa's water, air and surrounding ecosystem remain free of the byproducts of uranium mining. Uranium mining would poison these basic elements irreversibly. Our goal is to raise awareness and request a moratorium on uranium mineral prospecting, exploration, and mining in the Ottawa watershed. We call on our local political representatives to fulfill their responsibility of ensuring a healthy Ottawa.

Texans for a Sound Energy Policy Alliance’s mission is to support a Texas energy supply policy that is reasonable, sustainable and environmentally sound. The main goal is to ensure the process of approving the proposed nuclear power plant is not rushed or secretive. The key questions must be identified and the issues fully discussed. Along with seeking public opinion and community participation in the process, TSEPA has retained engineers, hydrologists, attorneys, and economic and environmental consultants to conduct independent studies to answer questions and highlight any problems that may be identified.

HEAL Utah: Healthy Enivironment Alliance of Utah

HEAL has established itself as a leader in the struggle to make Utah's environment healthy and safe for all. We have grown from a small group of six people meeting around a table to the point that we now have thousands of supporters, hundreds of members, dozens of core volunteers, and five staff. Our successful campaign to get the importation of hotter radioactive wastes banned by a reluctant state legislature is proof that when citizens insist on open, inclusive, and accountable governance, they can be heard and heeded.
