I'd like to see a contact group feature. When I share a doc to a group of people, I can just simply enter the contact group name, instead of every emails.

Does Diigo count? :)

If not, then Zoho Office. It's a complete (more complete than Google Docs) office suite for free and online. It's still be bit on the buggy side though. Sometimes slow and sometimes the features work a bit better than others.

i used dotproject for its "all in one functions", as it's free, and very complete...
but as a collaborative tool, it's not so easy to use... but has many good tools inside.
i think wikis are very useful too like: tiddlywiki (a very simple but strong one)
and for more what do you think about e-learning tools like atutor, or perhaps much more: moodle ?
and for the last ... i think it approach our complex relationships: cmaptools, a schematic collaborative tool: all links are synthetized in a scheme and others can add and make the functioning better...
also second life, with a better renderer will be the tool for collaborative... 3D and direct exchange: just need some tools to share and add some private events... (it has some...)

I use Mindomo it's an online Mind Map @ http://www.mindomo.com the best free online mind mapper I have found. want to see mine go http://www.mindomo.com/view?m=53db881df092ba76f4ec91f62ff90d9e

Another one is Coventipages @ https://www.coventi.com it's like a online white board or instant messenger with a word processor editor.

www.thinkfree.com --> working as Office suite. Using 'Power Edit' function will be the most similar alternative to Office I have found. What I don't like of Google docs and Zoho apps is that they can't visualize an Word document as originally created, but thinkfree does.

http://reviewbasics.com/ --> an original way to show what you are working on and ask for opinions.

www.vyew.com --> collaborative online, similar to zoho meeting.

I use google docs at home - ease of use, version control, off site backup.
- could make it better with full offline capabilties

Open-xchange at work. Secure, linking capabilities, easy to learn/use.

I got started on Google Sites as soon as i got the notice that it was available. It quite powerful, as it integrates a wiki/website editor that is easy to grasp, shared calendar, and google docs all in one.

It still is kind of basic, but it doesn't need to setup a server (though it does require owning a domain). It does allow for a medium organisation to setup different websties (one per project / team / activity or whatever) and give very precise permissions in regard to who can read what.

I am not an IT dude, just a regular power-user, and i enjoy it tremendously. The IT dudes in my org blocked previous attempts of mine of converting them to Google Apps, but this is a nice hack, since it doesn't require any permission of theirs: accounts are setup through a simple e-mail verification (with a link to click on as you would find for registering on any forum).

It does lack the projct management tools that it should have (since Google Sites is based on Jotspot), but i'm pretty positive it''s only a matter of time until they launch them. the page editor is pretty basic, also (but that's good for the rest of us who don't want to mess around with any html whatsoever), and it is wysiwig.

For project management i use http://www.comindwork.com. A lot features, powerful and free (5 team members/ 5projects)

Hi folks,

I am looking for enthusiastic Diigo users to participate in a research study of how you use Diigo! The study would take place from the comfort of your home (or wherever you usually access Diigo). It would not be very time intensive for you -- you would be doing what you normally do online -- plus, you'd be contributing to a very interesting research project on how people use social bookmarking sites. Furthermore, Diigo presents interesting opportunities and features that other social bookmarking sites do not -- it would be fantastic to include Diigo in our research project!

Forbes had a not so nice writeup on Second Life in their July 2nd issue. The just is that early commercial adopters have pulled out and that an epidemic sex rampage is occurring throughout the virtual land. While it's a bit over the top it's not a bad idea to keep in touch with other viewpoints..

Friends tell me chocolate is good when you`re tired. I usually work a lot and need energy but I`m also on a diet. If I eat chocolate when I`m running out of batteries, will it make me feel better or just “help” me put some extra pounds? I`m not overweight but I’d like to maintain a healthy weight.

It depends on how much chocolate you eat. Check this article at Project Weight Loss – it says that chocolate is good because it boosts your brain, gives you energy, helps you concentrate, and maintains your heart healthy. However, the improvements in your brain power last for only 2-3 hours.
