We'll be starting a series of "Tips of the day" blog posts to introduce some features / clarify some differences between V2 and V3.

We know there are lots of changes from V2 to V3, but we hope it's quite worth it. Don't be "overwhelmed" - just explore a little bit at a time. Plus, it's always a nice surprise for you to continue discover something new at diigo :-) Whatever that we can make the "transition" easier for you guys, welcome your suggestion.

How to send your FF profile to help us debugging

Due to users' different settings, computer specs, etc... sometimes we have difficulty reproducing users reported bugs. In the case of Firefox browser user, it sometimes helps when the user can send us a copy of their FF profile, and may be easier for us to duplicate the issue.

To send us your FF profile, please do the following steps:

1) clear your FF private data

2) go to C:\Documents and Settings\(your
username)\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox and compress the files in
this folder --- > note: this is a hidden file, to locate it,

please go to windows explore, tools === > Option === > view == > hidden /
show == > show all docs. Then, please check the corresponding name

3) Send it to

By the way, the compressed file maybe too large for email. you can send

4) Please set a temporary password (go to tools > > profile to change) and advise your username and temporary password.

5) Please also advise the details of your computer specs (such as operating system, browser version, extensions / themes installed in FF), etc...

An easy way to do this if you have *many* extensions etc. is to use the Infolister extension:

Hi maggie_diigo!

I checked the properties of my current profile (I have four-why I have no idea) folder, and I found that it was:

315MB (Size: 331,114,271 bytes/Size on disk: 330,774,481 bytes)

11,416 files
736 folders

Should I just zip-up the entire folder or just send certain items? I used SnagIt 8 to get a shot of the folder contents as well as the report from Infolister addon. They can be seen at http://tinyurl.com/27g5vu
and http://tinyurl.com/365euy respectively. Just click on the pics to enlarge to full-size.

Bytheway, how do you insert clickable links (such as the above) into forum posts?

Hi Tim,

In this case, you can zip-up entire folder except all bookmarks files ( from bookmarks-1.html to bookmarks-202.html).

To add hyperlink, you need to add a bit html code. However, we will support easy hyperlink later.

Joel, in answer to your question ("=====> Did uou experience the problem in every web pages or just some specific pages? Could you send us the URL where the diigolet disappeared after you had clicked the QuickD button?"), I uninstalled the Diigolet and installed the Diigo toolbar to see if the QuickD worked the same as the Diigolet. On all pages (no matter the url, type of page or whatever, it was

For Diigolet (works for all urls, type of page or whatever):
1. Click Diigolet button.
2. Click QuickD button.
3. Click Diigolet button (since the Diigolet bar disappeared)
4. Click QuickD button.
5. Click Bookmark/Share button
6. Fill-in bookmarking form.
7. Click Submit and Close

For Diigo Toolbar (works for all urls, type of page or whatever)
1. Click QuickD button
2. Watch as notifications tell me that the bookmark has been submitted, then saved.

Now, however, I tried disabling the Diigo Toolbar, then installing the Diigolet. Unfortunately, when I click on the Diigolet, I get the "Loading Diigolet" notification, which stays where it is and nothing else happens. I think I'll just uninstall the Diigolet and install the Diigo Toolbar (at least I know that works!)

Any tips of quickly moving one bookmark to another user account?

Hi, I use 2 accounts. One for informal tagging and the other for formal tagging.

For the sake of clarity:

Informal tagging: Tags gone wild. Add as many as possible.

Formal tagging: For me, I stick to the rule of 5 tags or less only per one bookmark

Currently, I do this by having two different browsers opened, and re-highlighting/re-adding my sticky notes to the other account.

Is there a better way of doing this? Preferably saving only the bookmarks + sticky note + highlights - the tags?

The reason I say no tags is because I use the tag cloud/tag list as a preview for how useful the tags really are for searching on my formal tagging account.

Diigo tool bar itself is a great tool to do this:
1. mark whatever you want to full-text-search. For example [How to search Diigo group forum?]
Or mark anything instead, you can modify it and search again later.
2. Right click on your mark. (if necessary, up to your Diigo toolbar settings)
3. In the right click popup, a Diigo feature [Search bookmark for "How to search D..."]
4. submenu : Current Site
5. submenu : Google, Yahoo, MSN, ... <===== They all work !!
6. Modify the input for a more precisely search to improve your search results.
