I see, the bookmark order is yet defined by the cached date only, and i have not found yet a rearranging possibility. (I may be failed of reading the help or forum
perusing concerning this possibility)

It would be a rating system or any else (drag and drop) by which the author can define an individual order for directing the user attention, and also would be a really strong feature!

Thanks for your considering it if it is not yet.
post by iplnts on 2007-05-12

I've been wondering about this as well. In the forum view one can't see for example the joined user only the tags, also in the group bookmarks view one can't see the tags.

suggestion:
+ Could it be both the group bookmarks and forum posts filtered by both tags or category and user/author, too? Unfortunately since the upgrade to v2 it always defaults to "sort by frequency". I click on "alpha". Tags are sorted alphabetically. I click on a tag. Tagged bookmarks are shown, but tags are sorted by frequency - again.
Funny thing - on the forum tags are always sorted alphabetically and I cannot set them to be sorted by frequency by default.

- There is no way to change the url of a bookmark. The only workable solution is to delete a bookmark, and diigo it once again.

I would like to say that this service is great. It makes my life a lot easier.

Cheers,
Konrad
post by conrad on 2007-04-18

Konrad,

Yes, we will offer preservation of your setting preferences - on our list to further improve our bookmarks / tag area.

We had internal discussion here about whether to allow editing of URL or not. Diigo is unique vs. other bookmarking services out there. Editing itself is not a big deal. However, given our unique ability to mark up a page and those annotations have to be very specific to a particular URL, we have decided not to complicate the situation and thus not offer the URL edit option.

One shouldn't have to edit URL too frequently. If so, just delete and diigo it again will be the best solution. Considering the Pros and Cons, I hope you agree with our decision.

Glad to hear Diigo is serving you well. Please kindly share it with your friends and help us spread the words :-)
post by maggie_diigo on 2007-04-18

conrad wrote:
> - There is no way to change the url of a bookmark. Changing the URL is something that doesn't happen too frequently. So, I too think the cons involved with allowing editing URLs overweigh the pros.

I guess what you would like to avoid is having to re-enter the tags and the comments, and you may want to preserve your highlights and sticky notes (if there are any).
For that, I can just give you the tip to copy & paste all important information temporarily into a text editor, and then copy & paste it back into place after having re-created the bookmark with the new URL. Of course, the highlighting would have to be done manually again.
post by ollitolli on 2007-04-18

Dear Maggie,

Thanks for your reply.

post by conrad on 2007-04-19
