I used to be able to save to
Furl as well, now it's not one of the choices.
Is it coming back?

Helaine
post by helaine on 2008-03-25

Hi Helaine,
We didn't find the Furl APIs, so it's hard to save to Furl.
I did some explanation on how we supported those sites before and why we stopped supporting them in the new version http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/2740
post by joel on 2008-03-25

Hi Joel,

It's a shock to find an "upgrade" that takes away features with no warning. Is it possible to go back to the previous version?

Before Diigo, I used other "scripts/bookmarklets" that allowed me to save to del.icio.us and Furl, among others, simultaneously. These were written by individuals, so it wouldn't seem to be that hard.

FYI - Without the ability to save to del.icio.us and Furl, I would not have tried Diigo - too much of a downside - too much extra work to save to different places so I could go back if I didn't like Diigo.

Since I've been using Diigo, I like it and now have to decide if I like it enough to lose Furl.

Helaine

Joel Liu wrote:
> Hi Helaine,
> We didn't find the Furl APIs, so it's hard to save to Furl.
> I did some explanation on how we supported those sites before and why we stopped supporting them in the new version http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/2740
post by helaine on 2008-03-25

It is a pain to have to go to simpy and individually mark the private ones that are saved by Diigo as public. I have made sure my preference in simpy is set to create new bookmarks as public, I have checked this several times, logged in and out, nothing seems to help!
post by praguebob on 2008-02-20

Are those bookmark public or private in Diigo? We are improving simultaneous bookmark feature. You can use the new version soon.
post by joel on 2008-02-20

Thanks for the quick reply!

In Diigo they are public and I want them to be public on simpy as well... I have set the default for new bookmarks to be public. You can see my posts from Diigo on del.icio.us, ma.gnolia and simpy as praguebob, too. But since I started using your site a few days ago I have had to go back to simpy periodically and mark the newest posts as public. Here's a fresh example that I haven't corrected yet:

http://www.artcluster.com/whiteboard/ (you can go and check all of the aforementioned sites yourself and you'll see that the simpy one isn't public....

BTW it is working fine for ma.gnolia and del.icio.us (I also post simultaneously to those sites)

I think this is a wonderful feature, neither simpy nor ma.gnolia would have my links if it weren't for this and I wouldn't switch over completely from del.icio.us either. You have done a great thing here with this feature, which otherwise works great. The thing with simpy is prbably a bug either in their API or in the way you are using it - I hope the latter because then you can just fix it!.... :-)

2nd BTW: If I post simultaneously and then edit the tags using Diigo and save back, the edits don't appear in del.icio.us so you apparently only create and not update, which is a bit of a drag, but oh well...

3rd BTW I do miss the feature of del.icio.us where it actually suggests tags that other people have used for something that was posted by other users, I think you could add this pretty easily and it would be helpful, I think...

Otherwise I like Diigo so much that I'm raving about it to everyone here at work (a media organization), I'm a new and big fan of Diigo!

-Bob

joel wrote:
> Are those bookmark public or private in Diigo?
