diigolet doesn't sing in...

I'm having problems signing in with the diigolet. I'm using firefox 3, the latest diigolet available and openID. I did the usual clear cache stuff.

The funny thing is that the diigolet succeeds on diigo.com and fails to sing in on every other site/page. When it fails a dialog shows with the url http://toolbar3.diigo.com requesting for a user name and password - and I can't enter the openID there.

Is there some solution for this?

Sorry for the delayed response. We will look into the diigolet and OpenID issue.

Here is the solution
1) Firefox ===>Tools ==>Options ==>Privacy ===>Cookies ===> Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies

2) Login with your Open ID in Diigo website.

3) Now you can use the diigolet without login required.

Firefox 3 Diigo 3.1.6 Toolbar Won't Sign-in

The 3.1.6 version of the Diigo Tollbar for Firefox appears to be broken. No matter how many times I login to Diigo, the Toolbar keeps saying "Diigo - Sign In". Can't I revert to 3.1.5 somewhere?

I forgot to mention, this behavior is on OS X Leopard 10.5.4 and Firefox 3.0.1

Same thing in Flock. But I wouldn't want to downgrade as 3.1.5 would crash Flock.

Same problem here. System 10.4.7, Firefox 3.0.1., Diigo 3.1.6.0

..."Diigo-Sign In" is the only option in the Diigo-Toolbar, even if I sign in several times. Also the keyboard-shortcuts don't work.

I just changed from Del.icio.us to Diigo recently and have to say that I never had a similar problem with delicious, although I like the enhanced functionality of Diigo (highlighting, commenting). Would be great if it would also work though...

same thing going on here. it's actually the first time this has occurred with diigo. perhaps it has something to do with the downtime experienced with diigo over this past weekend?

Look like a Mac issue. Looking into it now...

The problem was solved. You can download and install the latest toolbar Version: 3.1.6.1 http://www.diigo.com/tools .

Diigo asks me to sign in more than once per session... It's anoying to have to stop and sign in so often.

Why is diigo limiting sign-in period? Why isn't it persistent like del.icio.us or Facebook (which remain even past the session)? If you don't think this is good for all users, then at least make it an option some users can use.

If diigo really wants to be a bookmarking system, then it should allow for persistent sign in: imagine if Firefox asked you to sign in to your bookmarks...

Totally agree with you. I came on here trying to see if there were any solutions to this in the work. Doing research papers is quite frustrating when you are trying to read something about 10 pages long and have to sign in about 3 or 4 times to keep highlighting. They need to fix this. please? :)

UPDATE: It has been more than 1 month and the issue remains with FireFox RC3.

Can you please let me know what the issue is or if you plan on doing something about this annoyance.

Oh, I am sorry to miss your post.

We never limit the sign-in period. We're looking into the diigolet issue. BTW, you can install the diigo toolbar http://www.diigo.com/tools which allows for persistent sign in.

Diigo toolbar is fully customizable.

Go to Diigo >> Options >> Select toolbar buttons - pick and choose which ones you wish. You have complete control of your desktop RE space

The problem maybe cause by the third party cookie mechanism in FF3. Could you look into Firefox == >Tools === >Options == >Privacy ===Cookie === >Accept third party cookie opion? Please make sure this option is checked and telll me the result.

but it still takes up an entire row, even if it only has one button.

though I guess it must be possible to install the toolbar, but disable it entirely and only use the right click menu... though I haven't tried it.

I like, and use, the diigo toolbar. But with every site out there offering a toolbar that takes up a whole row, many people are VERY picky about what toolbars they'll install. Thats why, in many ways, I prefer extensions over toolbars, ones that install themselves unobtrusively in a corner and don't take up much space.
I keep the diigo one on because I like the search box, the highlighting and the unread options. But its still more than 50% empty...

I have FF 2.0.0.12 and installed the new Diigo Toolbar 3.1.1.

I cannot Sign-in from the toolbar. (I can sign-in from the website just fine.)

I clicked on the button on the toolbar and the button from the Diigo menu. Because it states I need to sign-in I don't have access to any of the Diigo buttons.

Further, I am signed in now (from the website) and you would think Diigo would be able to "notice" that but in any case. I don't have access to my Diigo toolbar buttons or menu items.

I signed out and signed in again. No change. By the way, when I click on the toolbar button or menu item to sign-in, nothing happens. I am not taken to another page, asked for my login information or anything else. Nothing happens.

I did install my IE toolbar and that worked just fine so I don't believe my account or access to my account is an issue. (However, since you are deploying right now, it may explain why NONE of my saved bookmarks would show in the sidebar. But, that may be a separate issue.)

I want to add to my reply below.

I added the Diigolet to my toolbar buttons (FireFox 2.0.0.12). It works fine too. It is only the menu and toolbar that I can't "sign-in" and have use of the buttons or menu items.

You have the old diigolet version and somehow it didn't auto-update properly.. Try delete that and re-install another diigolet, and try again.

I deleted the old diigolet bookmark in Firefox and created a new diigolet bookmark in Firefox but I continue to get the same "Failed" message when I try to sign in at diigolet.

Is there a diigolet file stored in my computer that I need to delete? I searched for such a file but none was found.

I also cleared the Cookies file and the Temporary Internet Files

Can you provide a solution that actually works?

Please follow these steps exactly

1. remove the old bookmarklet by clicking "Delete" in the right click menu
2. go to http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet from http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet and drag firefox diigolet again
3. clear firefox cache: Tools -> Clear Private Data. check Cache and click Clear Private Data Now

If it still doesn't work. Please provide specific firefox version and diigolet version that you see. (mouse over anywhere blank in the diigolet toolbar to see version)

For the past two days I haven't been able to use diigolet on my mac. When visiting a page, I can drop down the diigolet menu when clicking "diigolet" link in bookmark bar. However, when clicking Sign In, it doesn't sign me in. I have cleared the cache, cookies &c all to no avail.

I have tried this for firefox and safari and both do not work. Any further suggestions?

What I have noticed however, is that the autofill tag feature no longer works. Is that a bug?

Sign-in Drop

For some reason, I sometimes get automatically signed out of my Diigo account. This has happened in both Firefox and IE7. I have noticed it as I've been experimenting with Diigo's highlighting and sticky note features.

I'm afraid I can't retrace my steps on this one. I haven't been able to find a way to reproduce the problem.

After you edited sticky note, the system could sign you out. This is a known problem.

We can't reproduce the problem. Could you send your FF profile to us by following instructions here:

How to send your FF profile to help us debugging

Please also change your password to a temp one and give it to us. So we can use your account to reproduce the problem.

During this time, you can try the diigolet ( Diigolet ) to do bookmark and annotation.

With your profile, we found out the problem.
Although cookie for diigo.com was enabled, toolbar.diigo.com was blocked. So just remove toolbar.diigo.com from the exception, everything will be fine again. Checked it in
in Firefox ==> Tools==>Options ==> Privacy ==> Cookie section ==>Exceptions.

OK - Thanks for the fast reply. It's working now.

For the benefit of anyone else who has this problem here's what Joel said by email:

I checked your profile. The diigo login cookie was cleared , so the toolbar was not logged in but the website was logged in. Just sign out the website, and sign in again. Then you can do bookmark as before.
BTW I noticed you chose to clear all cookies every time you restart FF. Setting it as this, you need to login diigo every time when you start FF. If it's not convinent for you, you can do the following steps:
FF ==>Tools ==> Options ==> Privacy ==> Private data ==> Setting ==>Uncheck Cookie there.
If you still have problems with it, don't hesitate to email me.

I have the same problem. Since yesterday, when I am already logged in and try to see my bookmarks (from "more" menu) I asked to enter user id and password..
When I write the user id and the password It pops again.
“Please enter user and password for restricted file at http://alpha.diiego.com”
(the same response accrue when trying to log diiego.com from "more" menu)
I cleared the cookies, reload Mozilla and the same bad results.

After I write the user + pass. I get:
"Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required"

Bottom line-I can't load my bookmarks unless I load diiego.com in the address bar.
