Following bookmarklet allow quickd page without loading diigolet. It doesn't show any success message. Also it marks page as unread.

Clicking on QuickD makes Diigolet toolbar disappear!

Hello all!

I have a problem. On a new page, I click on the Diigolet button which brings up its toolbar. I click on the QuickD button which causes the toolbar to disappear! This occurs only on the first toolbar. I click on the Diigolet button, which brings up the toolbar, then I click on the QuickD button. Since the toolbar doesn't disappear on the second try, I can now finish bookmarking the site. Is there a way around this (other than using the Diigo Toolbar)?
Bytheway, since my trackball screwed-up, my usual procedure is to use keyboard shortcuts to get to the Bookmarks menu, then move down to the Bookmark Toolbar folder, then hit enter on "Diigolet." I'm going to try just clicking on the Diigolet button on the BMT and see how that works.

Unfortunately, clicking directly on the Diigolet button yields the same results.

Okay, I went to OfficeMax and bought a Logitech Marble Mouse. After wrestling with the program, it's working great! However, the Diigolet still does the same disappearing act. So, I just deleted it and installed the Diigo Toolbar, which works great, bytheway. I click on QuickD and the site gets bookmarked.

hi, I posted awhile back about this but I want to bring it up again. To make your wonderful service even easier, it would be SO handy to have a "use last tags" option under QuickD. In other words, if I set this option, the tags used for the last page I bookmarked would show up as the default in the QuickD box--allowing me to edit them as I need to and then bookmark with the QuickD button. This would just be another option for pre-filling the QuickD field, other than the current QuickD options--search terms or stable predefined tag(s).

I hadn't thought about it. Seems that the current system is fine for those settings, but the system could be extended as you suggest.

I just think it's a pain with the current system to tag several pages in a row with *almost* the same tag or group of tags. After I've carefully tagged the first time, I become lazy, drop tags off, etc.

I'm a new user to Diigo - and really excited!

The only thing I really, really miss: A "quick add" possibility in Safari (one-click adding of a bookmark without any pop-up).

I know, this feature is included in the toolbar for Firefox (QuickD) - but it should be possible to provide a bookmarklet for Safari which accomplishes that as well?

It would support my worklflow a lot! :-)

Exclusion of specific tags on users' main bookmarks listing (and main feed)

I think it would improve the impression of the quality of the content if it was possible for us to exclude specific tags, especially the tag used with quickD, as those posts may need some extra tags or comments before they are suitable for the user's main tag listing. I can also see other reasons too why it would be useful to state in the profile which tags should not be listed in the bookmarks front page.

PS. If something like the above gets implemented, we would need a new menu link to a full list of "all my bookmarks". My main motivation with this suggestion is to have some influence on how great my own bookmarks list looks to others, and also to exclude too-quickly-added bookmarks from the main RSS feed that others may use. Just as a qualty control, and it will give extra flexibility or activity too as we would be able to add more bookmarks with quickD, not having concerns of whether I want this particular link to show up on my follower's web sites.

Notice that those bookmarks tagged with tags that excludes them from the main personal bookmarks listing are still available when clicking on the tags in the tag cloud. They are just not listed in the main bookmarks list.

Thinking further on this, I guess that such a feature would be better if we could say that it applies only to bookmarks tagged ONLY with one of "those" tags (given in a user defined list in the profile) and not with any other tags (ie. single-tag posts). That would be very practical.

How about we provide an option "Set QuickD as private by default". When this option is checked, all QuickD bookmarks are private. Then these bookmarks will not be presented when other people access your bookmark list.

Yes, that would be a good start, that sounds like less work and quicker for you to implement too.

But the other point here (further down the road) is to register tags or groups that can be used to keep public items away from the "main stream".

Think of it this way:
My main bookmarks listing is "my reputation" builder, or my "badge" (will get back to some other concepts around "badge" later as a different suggestion).

I want the best bookmarks there (on my main page, the one my followers and any new visitors see first), and lots of other bookmarks appearing only when accessing the tag views (lists of bookmarks within a tag or tag group).

The prouder I get from using this service, the more addicted I will be :-)

QuickD: Ctrl-Q

Recently, the Diigo toolbar seems to have claimed Ctrl-Q for its own use to QuickD bookmark the current site. I use Ctrl-Q to quit Firefox, so this is a bit of an intrusion. I don't see any way to change or disable this part of the Diigo toolbar, nor do I see a way for Firefox to map keys.

How can I reclaim my Ctrl-Q keychord?

I too prefer to use Control-Q or some other keyboard shortcut for the standard bookmarking dialog. I prefer to tag my bookmarks right away and would like a shortcut key to access it.

In the latest toolbar (FF 1.0 2007053100), there is now an option to "disable or enable" QuickD keyboard shortcut.

Okay, I just noticed that although Ctrl-Q no longer QuickD's (since I unchecked it in my settings), Ctrl-Q is not remapped back to Quit Firefox. Now, pressing Ctrl-Q seems to do nothing. :( How can I get my Quit keychord working again?

How do your configure Ctrl-Q as "quiting FF"? According to http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/keyboard, users can't define their own keyboard shortcut. If you use other extension to define your own shortcut, please let us know what it is, then we can find out what happened.

Hrm. Well, there must have been some sort of mysterious alteration to my installation of Fx. I'm using Fx 2 under Gentoo Linux, in KDE. I'm pretty sure I wasn't imagining things; I used Ctrl-Q to quit in the past, and you could even see it described in the File Menu to the right of the Quit menu item, just like other shortcuts in the menu.

But I do see how Ctrl-Q (or any quit shortcut) is not described on that mozilla.org page; ergo I guess I have to just give up and consider myself a unique case. :(

I guess it's Alt-F | Alt-Q for me. :(

Default category for quick-adding

Efficiency is what draws me towards this service. It is way better than the others, but there are still things that can be made even easier.

One is that when quickly adding a bookmark, without going through the form to fill in tags, I would like - or actually need - to be able to later go to a tag list of those that has been quickly added like that, so I can fix tags for them. However, I will have bookmarks that deliberately have no tags, so the "uncategorised list" does not address this particular concern. I would like to decide which category to use for that. I could even assign categories like "week34" for this purpose, and the next week increase by one number, then I can later go back and choose which week I want to. This adds another flexibility: If I dont want to fix the tags, but still find back what I quickly added, then very often I know roughly which week or month I added what "now" want to find back. So such an option would work very well also for that purpose.

Diigo toolbar ==> Options ==> Input default QuickD tag.
In this case, you can write "week34" there and use QuickD to do bookmarks. Then, all your QuickD bookmarks will be tagged as "week34". Next week, you can change the default tag as "week35" etc.

QuickD and Bookmarking with the Toolbar?

Hi all,

I wonder, if anyone else would prefer to have as many bookmarking options available in the Diigo toolbar instead of opening up the Diigo pop-up window everytime?

After discovering QuickD i now always use it for my bookmarking needs if all i want to do is make some highlights and add some tags for the page (put your tags in Diigo Search box and hit QuickD). I find this to be much faster than opening the pop-up window. Currently QuickD sets the unread flag for each bookmark, but i'm hoping it will be optional in the future.

To do 95% of my bookmarking with the toolbar, would require at least to have the privacy-switch visible on it. And perhaps also a checkbox row, where one can choose which Groups to share to.

Opening the Diigo pop-up feels too slow for me...

...Anyone else prefer QuickD for all their bookmarking?

Would anyone else prefer not to open a pop-up window when bookmarking if it could be circumvented somehow?

I agree. A privacy switch visible on the toolbar could be useful for quick bookmarking.

Sure you can ;)

Put your tags in the Search box next to the QuickD button. Also make sure you have the "Capture search terms" turned on by clicking on QuickD's down-arrow, and choosing the corresponding option.
