Group Invite Emails are not being delivered

I have a "Private, Join by invitation only" of which I am the owner.
I have tried three times on three different days (including today) to invite my colleagues to this group.
I have tried both single emails and multiple emails at once.
I entered the emails by hand.
I am using Firefox 3.0 on a PC platform.

None of the invite emails have been delivered and I am thus unable to share the contents of my group with my colleagues as I had hoped. Will there be a fix for this coming? I don't really want to have to take all those links to a different bookmarking service, but I do need to be able to share them privately with my colleagues soon.

Just FYI - another thing I noted when doing this:

When I was adding email addresses I was typing them in by hand.
By accident I put a comma after a name as I was typing.
Then I tried to delete the name and retype it in without the comma- but by that time the field had already remembered the name with the comma and automatically filled out the field with that name and the errant comma.
Eventually I got around this problem by refreshing the page (at which point the names I'd previously typed in became 'un-remembered') and starting all over again. It's nice that the field fills in for you, but if it doesn't allow you to override the automatic response then I guess some people are going to encounter problems down the line.

Bookmarks on a Private List

If you save a bookmark to a private list is it automatically private, or does the bookmark need to explicitly made private on it's own?

Privacy for bookmarks and privacy for lists are separate things. One is independent from the other. Your bookmarks will always keep their privacy setting that you chose when you created (or imported) them. If a bookmark was public before, it will still be public when being saved to a private list. If a bookmark was private before, it will still be private when being saved to a private list. So, a private list can contain both private *and* public bookmarks, yet the list as a whole will remain private. In a list, you cannot see the privacy setting for bookmarks because the privacy setting applies to the list as a whole (but as individual bookmarks, public bookmarks will remain public as already mentioned above).

Q: Highlighting and privacy?

I was using diigo purely as a bookmarker, but i've recently discovered how useful the highlighting is (in particular with regard to notes to access from a mobile).

However I'm wondering about the privacy settings. When I highlight something it says "private highlight by soulgrind r", but even if i'm not logged in, those highlights show up under the "expand" link on my user page. That seems confusing to me, as they aren't really private (though i guess it refers to actually seeing the highlights "in page". )

Also, I'd like the default setting of HIGHLIGHTS (as opposed to bookmarks) to be private. If I bookmark a page, and tag it, etc.. then I probably am happy for it to be public (or at least I have the option to choose).

If I highlight something then its often just a reminder, or a quick bit of temporary information for me (how it get to a place, how to beat a level in a game, etc..).
So, ideally, I'd like to be able to set the default privacy for Bookmarks (tagged), Quick Bookmarks, AND Highlights (no_tag).

If I decide to tag it later then I'll probably make it a pubic bookmark, and its probably worth sharing.. but if it's "no_tag" then its probably not worth sharing (at least not yet).

Here's what I wanted to do:
- Make notes about a client's website and share it with them (without them having to be Diigo users)
- I made highlighted sticky notes all over some different pages (private)
- I made a list and made a Webslides for it.
- Problem #1: My private notes are not automatically imported into Webslides (I have to make new ones)
- Problem #2: I can't share a Webslides list without making it fully public (I can't just email it to a few people I know privately)
- My workaround: Keeping it all private and use "Forward" to forward the list to my clients

Any thoughts?

Also - another request is that we should be able to highlight or sticky anything. ie if I select a widget or a graphic or a button, I should be able to attach a sticky note, donch think?

Lastly - I love the Diigo toolbar and await one for Safari. In the meantime, I use the diigolet, but unlike the toolbar, I can't set a preference to mark all bookmarks private by default (which I would prefer to opt in to share, not opt out).

PS. I can't see why anyone would still use delicious after this. Great job.

Your workaround is a good one - if you mark those pages private to start with, then your original intention is not to make it public in the first place. Forward to share is a good solution.

You should be able to highlight text, image, and flash / video. If you can highlight, then you should be able to add sticky note. We don't think it's a good idea to allow highlighting a widget...

We're soooo busy with the new toolbars / site development - don't have plan to develop a Safari toolbar anytime soon (it's a lot of resources and ongoing commitment to support a new platform). Our new toolbars are really, really awesome. You may wish to explore using Firefox browser later? :-)
