BUT this does not seem to be the case.

What can a group moderator do that an ordinary member can not do?

Are there further rights planned for moderators in the future?

Andrew
post by module_leader on 2008-03-02

Hi,

Moderator can:
- Manage group
- Manage forum
- Manage member

And they can edit and delete group bookmarks and forum contents.

Mah
post by mahsaito on 2008-03-03

Hi Mah

that is certianly what I thought they might be able to do, but I am not sure it works too well - they certainly cannot edit or delete other peoples bookmarks.

Andrew
post by module_leader on 2008-03-03

Hi Andrew,

Uhm... I think it is something wrong. I can do those action in here. You need to ask Diigo staff with more details (whitch group and so on) information.

Mah
post by mahsaito on 2008-03-03

> What can a group moderator do that an ordinary member can not do?

On the bookmarks side, moderator can delete bookmark / annotations (but not edit). On the forum side, moderator can have the full edit / delete right. On the group membership management, he can also invite / remove / ban users (ban = never allow to join this group again).

Biggest difference between owner and moderator is that moderate cannot remove the ownership from the owner (ie. remove / ban owner).

Hope this helps.
post by maggie_diigo on 2008-03-06

Do you have to be a moderator to share bookmarks with a group?

I'm the owner and I'm the ONLY one Who can share to the group. When I made one a moderator, he was able to share.

Andrew Rosenthal wrote:
> Diigo groups allow an ordinary group member to be converted to a moderator.
>
> I had thought this might allow them to edit or delete other peoples annotations.
