Version 3.1.5.4 Severe Install Problem

When I re-started my Firefox browser, I was notified of a new version. I had 3.1.5.1. (I am still using Firefox 2.0.0.14.)

When I re-opened Firefox, Diigo is gone! I checked the extensions and even the extension I installed is not showing up. I disappeared.

I right-clicked on my menu bar so I can check to show the Diigo toolbar but it is not there to check.

I reinstalled the extension and still nothing! What's up with this?

Thanks for reporting. We have temporarily rolled back to the previous version due to the severity of the problem you have reported.
Though our own testing installs/upgrades the toolbar perfectly, we are trying to find a possible cause of this problem.

Could you please tell us
Did firefox download the xpi completely? (Did the download progress bar reach 100%?)
Did you see any warning or error message from Firefox?

Your help will be very helpful.

I am running Firefox 3. When I attempt the upgrade it tells me that there was a bad hash and that it can not perform the update. No damage is done to my existing toolbar. The error I get is as follows:

Firefox could not install the file at

http://www.diigo.com/diigoresources/downloads/diigotoolbar-firefox-new.xpi

because: Invalid file hash (possible download corruption)
-261:

The XPI does download fully, but it prevents me from going any further.

I'm having this problem on two different systems. Both XP both using FF 3.0.1.

Hi Lee,
You can try the following suggestions:
1) Clear the cache (Tools ==>Clear private data ===> Choose cache ), then reload the download page to install it again.
2) If it still doesn't help, please manually install the extension (right-click the install link -> "Save Link As"-> save the file, then drag the file icon onto an open Firefox window)

If you still experience the problem by manually installing the extension, an anti-virus software may be corrupting the file. You need to disable the anti-virus software temporarily to download the extension.

Just for the heck of it I tried to upgrade using the FF Ad-ons list and it worked fine. Seems like there's only a problem when updating through the automatic system that runs when FF is started up.

Don't get toolbar to work after installation

Hi there,

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.14 and downloaded the toolbar add-on directly from the diigo site. After I installed it I get two major problems.
1) One is, whenever I open a knew window, I get a message saying the some scripts on this page don't run and that I should stop them or try to re-run the script. I always choose "stop". This message keeps coming 10 and more times then and it takes around five minutes until the window finally opens. What's wrong??
2) Also, the diego toolbar isn't visible. The only thing I have in the browser is a symbol "diigo-sign in". Clicking it has no effect whatsoever and I am already signed in. When I rightclick on the toolbar and choose "adjust" (my firefos is in German so I dunno if that is exactly the English command), I can see the complete diigo toolbar. Yet when I close the adjust window it disappears again.

Anybody knows what is happening here?

Hi Chris,
We'd like to look into the issue. Maybe diigo toolbar conflicts with some other extensions. Could you create a new Firefox profile, try diigo toolbar in it and tell us the result?

Hi there,

It seems your hunch was right. I deactivated other add-ons in firefox. Through trial and error I figured out it is the megaupload toolbar add-on that is causing the trouble.

Can't import bookmarks because diigo toolbar will not install

I can't import bookmarks because the diigo toolbar will not install into Firefox 2.0.0.6. I have closed non-native Firefox toolbars (such as Yahoo toolbar). I have tried downloading and installing the diigo toolbar several times without success. How can this problem be corrected?

It's very strange that you can't install diigo toolbar. Could you try to download the tooblar ( right-click the toolbar, then save as) and install the toolbar locally? Please tell us it's a downloading problem or a installing problem.
Before you solved the problem, you can use diigolet instead http://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet

Import function was temporarily disabled due to a new server setting - it should be fine now.

By the way, are you still having problem with toolbar installed? Any firewall setting that prevents you from installing new software? Please contact Joel at info at diigo dot com if you're still having problem - we'll try to assist you.
