Hiding real name or at least using nickname under avatars

Hello.

I understand that profile editor require to fill in our real names, but is it possible to hide that from public and use it only for search reasons (to be able to find me through it)?

I want under my avatar to see my chosen nickname and not my real name, as most people know me by this. How this can be done without changing my profile's real name and matching it with my nickname?

Having so many real names on the diigo forums really ISN'T good for protecting people's identities!
Screen Names would be a much better idea.

It is possible because that was how the old Diigo used to work. Whether Diigo plans to move back to that model is still up to them.

Until they do something about that, I am reluctant to suggest Diigo to my friends that know me with my screen name...

The old version of diigo toolbar in firefox supported hiding unwanted comments and highlight of other users. It is very useful since sometimes you are not want to be annoyed by some of other user's footprints. I remember the function is designed as let go of some of the group selected by you. And it worked quite well. I like it very much and it really help me to improve my reading efficiency.

So I strongly suggest to re-add this function in diigo toolbar. Thank you!

hide other people's annotations

Is there a way to hide other people's annotations? Today I got on my homepage, google.com.au, and saw all these annotations/highlights from others. I really don't want "collaborative research" on websites I visit. Makes me feel like my computer is being invaded. Is there any way of getting rid of this? It's killing me and I'm very very very very tempted to uninstall Diigo now. Thanks!

Oh, yeah I use Diigo 3.1.4 and Firefox 2.0.0.13

You can go to toolbar ===> Highlight button drop down menu ==> Don't show highlight.

sorry this is currently not available. but you can filter annotations in the sidebar anyway you want.
