Styling not saved in newer versions of Diigo.

Hello,

There have been significant features added. However one feature I miss from the old is that the HTML styling information is not saved with the bookmarks. Previously it was very easy to read teh snippet, not it being a plain text that becomes difficult.

Is there something which I am doing wrong in teh new version.

I guess you mean the description field in the new bookmark window. It is in plain text now. Could you give us the scenario in which you wantto put HTML into the description field. Thanks.

Hi Joel,
From your reply I got what I was doing wrong. I was actually just putting bookmarks and not the highlights. In a way that is confusing for a person; my mistake as well as i did not go and read the tips.

If I highlight a certain page then does it also get bookmarke din my Bookmarks? But I guess in that case decription field is left empty is that correct.

Y. If you highlight a certain page, it is bookmarked automatically.

This was a very different mind set for me. I am used to selecting a section of the page I want in the description, and with Diigo I should really be highlighting the text I want to remeber, and using the description for a personal description.

Tag Clout formatting - When is it going to happen?

This has been discussed before, but the tag cloud needs to stop truncating the tags, and reflect the case the tag was saved as.
i.e. when i add the tag "SharePoint" i don't want to see "sharepoint".
And when i add the tag "SharePoint Customization", i don't want to see "sharepoint c".

Please fix this.

note formatting - must line breaks and everything be "squashed" together for me?

hi, I would like to be able to just type in my notes as is - ie, with proper paragraph separation (hey, these are my notes after all!) for easy visualization and reading, but i hate the way diigo will try to "squash" everything together for me, even after i have taken all that effort to be able to format my notes nicely. Is there a plan right now to preserve the text EXACTLY as i type it in?

The text should be saved exactly as you type in the sticky notes. I made two public sticky notes right on your post - please mouse over and check them out.

Meanwhile, I do notice that the formatting in the expanded view in "My Bookmarks" section for the "non-rich-formatted" note is not quite reserved. Will pass on to our engineer's attention.

ok, thanks, i see it now. Although really, u only see the formatting when u go and edit ur comment... If u merely mouseover the highlight, what u see is the squashed text! Are u seeing something different when u mouseover? I'm using Firefox 1.5 here.

Please upgrade to the latest FF browser version. Perhaps that's what affects your viewing.

To view the public annotation, make sure your viewing mode is set to "View All" - you can verify by going to the toolbar >> Diigo >.View Annotations

thanks, Maggie. I've figured out how to see the annotations already. I'm trying out FF 2.0 at the moment, and I must say that it's worse than for FF 1.5! I can't edit the notes that I have made already, for eg. with FF 2.0... With FF 1.5, that's ok.

Also regarding my original point about squashing: it seems that this squashing is only done for non-rich-formatted notes... For rich-formatted notes, both the text as shown in the bookmarks, and in the mouseover are not squashed...

My first example (on your #1 post) is shown without rich format text editing. Line spacing there seems to be preserved just fine.

My Bookmarks area - will get that fixed.

sorry to be difficult (and thanks for ur patience!), but really, i dunno why, but it definitely doesnt work here on my FF 1.5...

And i'm not going to get to FF 2.0 - i'll lose the ability to edit my notes! oh well. Thanks, anyway. At least i can sort of work around that by using rich formatting for now...
