Posting to Delicious just stopped working again

I have been depending on Diigo to post to Delicious, but I just discovered that starting around twenty-four hours ago (not sure exactly), none of my bookmarks were posted to Delicious.

Is there something that can be done about this, or do I have to repost each one to Delicious manually?

And is there a way to export a list of bookmarks out of Diigo? I can't find one.

I'm just adding a strong Me Too to Nathan's thought. I've also been relying on Diigo to get my bookmarks into Delicious. It stopped working about five days ago for me. What's up?

Yes, it's quite frustrating. Due to the fact that I have a much bigger network in Delicious and have set up a number of ways of piping information out of Delicious, I am really dependent on having everything I bookmark in other services end up in Delicious. But this doesn't seem to be a feature that the Diigo team puts a high priority on. It has performed erratically for a long time, working smoothly for a while and then abruptly stopping with no warning. In the past, when I've posted about it in this forum, a few days go by and then there is a terse response from the Diigo team blaming the Delicious API (even though none of the other services I use have been having any similar problems). So I don't get the impression that they intend for this feature to be heavily used or relied upon. I don't mean to be unfairly critical of the Diigo team; I suspect it's just a question of priorities. But if you really need your bookmarks to be stored in Delicious, it might be best just to stick to using Delicious, is the sense I'm slowly getting.

And for what it's worth, I've tagged the bookmarks that failed to export to Delicious with the tag "post:delicious:fail20080912" (no quotation marks).

I've just realised that the diigo toolbar (v 3.1.6.1) hasn't been posting to delicious since September 4th. I hope this gets sorted soon.

what might be useful would be some form of indication of when links have been posted to delicious.

I know this might be really tricky to do, and i know its probably down to the delicious API more than diigo.. but at least if there was some form of confirmation (on the toolbar or something) then it'd be easier to spot when it stopped.

I don't mind it breaking occasionally.. but when you find that dozens of sites haven't appeared its pretty annoying.

Update as of 9/14/2008 -- it looks as though, over the past couple of hours, the cross-posting to Delicious just "caught up" with its backlog, at least for my account. Everything has now been passed across to Delicious. As far as I can tell, it didn't miss any.

I'm a big delicious fan but I like the highlighting, etc. features in Diigo. When I realized you could auto post to delicious, I was thrilled and started using Diigo for my bookmarking. However, when I checked my delicious account, it seems nothing has made it there! I've double checked and have delicious validated from within Diigo.

Ok, so here is what I have for when we simultaneously bookmark:

1. The annotated link shows in the description field of the Delicious bookmark. ew. Please make it go away!

2. You can't re-bookmark (sorry anyone who like GTD) . If I mark something to read later, and then actually read it later and properly mark it, those changes will not make it to Delicious. This is a problem.

Is it meant to be this way? Or just a bug?

My input: first, the "annotated link" text in the Delicious description. I would be OK with it staying but not URL-encoded. It's too long and unreadable, and you have to URL-decode it before you can even paste it into a browser location bar. Better still would be if it could be TinyURL-ed first (or, ideally, using an in-house Diigo-based URL shortener).

Second: I have had some success having changes to bookmarks in Diigo passed to Delicious. If it's not happening for you, then there may be some problems in the communication via the Delicious API. Don't have any guesses as to where the problem might be ... except:

Third (and I should probably start a new thread with this): starting late yesterday, none of my Diigo bookmarks were exported into Delicious. Up to that point it was working great. Other services that I use (Clipmarks, Mento) have been posting to Delicious without a problem.

Cleaning up almost 1000 bookmarks here, and needs some help...

If you visit a bookmark, click the bookmark on the toolbar, rewrite the description, does the new bookmark every overwrite the old one with Delicious?

Also, where does the mapping of fields go? For a while there, my highlights were translating into Delicious as the description field of the bookmark - sending html code into all my descriptions. Is this still the case? Does only the Diigo Description of the bookmark get mapped to the Delicious bookmark description field? Or do comments and highlights go along for the ride?

One of the reasons I use Diigo is to automatically cross-post my bookmarks to both my Magnolia and Delicious accounts.

This functionality has been working successfully since I signed up to Diigo very early in the life of the site.

Today it stopped working. Now bookmarks submitted to Diigo are not cross-posted. I re-validated the credentials of the sites and saved my profile, to no avail.

Anyone got any suggestions as to why this has stopped working and how to get it working again?

Bookmark URLs exported to Delicious and Ma.gnolia break at ampersand character

I just discovered that when I use the "save elsewhere" feature on a bookmark with an ampersand in the URL, the exported URL breaks at the ampersand character. The ampersand and everything following it is dropped. I can't believe i never noticed this till now -- it means a bunch of my delicious bookmarks point to the wrong page.

For example, when I bookmarked the URL
http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=how-loss-of-privacy-may-mean-loss-of-security&print=true

the following URL was sent to Ma.gnolia and Delicious:
http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=how-loss-of-privacy-may-mean-loss-of-security

like said in the title. my credentials for delicious arre correctly inputed to diigo. it worked last time 17. of april.
it's really annoying to see this not working without getting noticed.

can you please please fix this asap? this feature is meaningless if it's not reliable.
also: could you add some sort of notification if the bookmark is not saved to another bookmarkingservice?

I can understand that you're not supporting other services without an functioning api anymore altough it left me screwed with my diigo/blinklist-setup. but please make it at least working again with delicious.

Del.icio.us banned our IP:(. We provided a temp solution just now and your bookmarks can be saved to del.icio.us again.

BTW, we will implement this feature in the toolbar soon, so you can post boomarks to del.icio.us from diigo toolbar directly.

"Import Delicious" bookmarks

When I went to Import my Delicious bookmarks, it says "Temporarily unavailable due to some problems with delicious api." If I click on importing RAW SUGAR or from any other social bookmark site, it says the same thing about Delicious

i am failing repeatedly with setting "save elswhere" to work the way it did before

even delicious does not work
blinklist is not on offer anymore

from the setting is not clear if it was set correctly at all... it just does not work!!!...

it worked nicely in previous version!
so probably i am not to be blamed, i was able to set it with no problems!
if now i am missing step how to set it and check the setting correctly how come i did not miss it in previous version?

for me all other features are pretty inferior...

disasterous version if it is not going to be fixed

Some sites don't provide APIs or their APIs are not stable, so we simulate user log-ining and bookmark submitting process in previous version. However, it is very buggy and unstable. We need to build new toolbar very often because those sites do constant changes :((

A possible bug:
When I use FF3, I found it automatically fills my diigo login info to the account input box of http://www.diigo.com/tools/save_to_others. When I submit by accident, it will save my password as *************, not the password of other accounts.
Did you experience similar scenario? Could you try to input your account information again and tell me whether it works?

Ah... that might be why FF2 keeps popping up a "change your password" confirmation box for me.
Simpy started working a few das back, but i only got delicious working last night. I think it might be to do with firefox rewriting the password that is submitted.

(i have the same username for delicious as diigo, but not for simpy. )

It seems to have changed it for delicious now, so it works... but i wonder if it means it wont work next time it tries to log into diigo??

under my Firefox/2.0.0.12 save elswhere is with different delicious username and password... still doesnt work... if i could see the password i put there at least... i checked it several times with checkox checked to get "saved sucessfully"... no progress done...

my delicious got some items finally with great delays... this can be problem on side of delicious and its API...

del.icio.us import is in reverse order

I just converted all my delicious bookmarks over today using the import feature. Tags and everything look great but they are in reverse order! The "oldest > >" link at the top takes me to my most recent bookmarks.

Is there any way to fix this?

I just imported my del.icio.us bookmarks. Does Diigo not transfer the same SAVE DATE as when it was saved on Delicious? I do know that BlueDot/Faves.com performs this way. Also, after importing, my Diigo bookmarks are now backwards (my most current saved Delicious bookmark is now last in Diigo)
