Hi Maggie!

I shouldn't like hurry on your team, but i like using Diigo on a daily base, and i feel these problems are very hot!
I know, your team may be in continous huge working on of some earlier & future features' improvements being been posted by many of us. (ie. tags, Bookmark order, highlight color, ..etc.) and certainly they have another tasks on ToDo than these only!

However there is a problem again with:
The order of clippings is now preserved .

What is written on your What is New pages under this header:

...The sequential order in which multiple clippings of the same webpage are displayed now follows their original positions on that webpage. So for example, if you made 10 highlights on a long web article, then the 10 clippings corresponding to the 10 highlights will be sorted according to their original positions in the article (and not according to the time the highlights were made)...

It is unfortunately fails now. The clipping order is either displayed by the original position or erratically in the My Bookmark Expaned view.

I don't know what may cause this.
I used and basically not in sequential order the clippings with the below commands criss-crossed:
- the right menu Diigo in main window: highlight or higlight & and sticky note
- drop-down or floating Diigo menu when highlighted any text: highlight or higlight & and sticky note
- form the Diigo toolbar : Highlight button
- form the Diigo toolbar : Sticky Note button
But, the result of the clipping order in the My bookmark Expanded view was a bit confused.

Please look after if it is possible!

It would be eliminated if the clipping order would be rearrangable in the My Bookmark Expanded view by dragging the clippings to the appropriate place by the owner, as it was proposed to be allowed also for the bookmarked pages' order.

Please see here again about the enforcing of the rearrangement of bookmark order somehow owing to it also would conduced to the above error.

The latter I mean, the boomark order rearranging also very miserable, and would be demanded to be allowed.as soon as possible.
Naturally there may be tricks to rearrange the already bookmarked pages.
I can for eample open the already bookmarked page in another browser's tab. I can delete the page from the Diigo My Bookmarks' order and then bookmark again this page from the browser view. This process can retain the tags, but not the clippings. Those vanish. Owing to the opened page in another browser's tab was initiated from the MyBookmark view thus, i can see both the earlier clippings and tags! It is obvious when i delete the page the clippings vanish and when this page has been bookmarked again, the tags would be rewritten. Although the clippings are not yet in the fresh bookmarked pages even so i can see them yet in the browser view, and i must somehow delete or re-clipit.
I made this very exhaustive work either to be the already typed long tags at least retained or i hoped the clipping kept also. But certainly this abnormal manipulation could cause also the above error.

Hi Maggie!

I was very chatty again in the above post.
I've looked after and can not reproduce momentarily this error. Now everything worked well.
Certainly, i was who made some shuffling.

Aside from it, it would be really great and useful to arrange (move) arbitrary the clipping boxes', also the bookmarked pages' sequence.
I guess, it is also not so simple to solve technically and you have already answered me on my another post these are on the ToDo list! I'll be more patient! There is not any trick until!

Important: position of 'clip it'

right now the 'clip it' is shown in the upper right corner of a flash video.
that's the same location the 'block'-button from the firefox-addon adblock. therefore clipit is useless for me and every other user of adblock and adblockplus right now as we are unable to click on it.
please change the location to the upper left corner or somewhere else.

(stuff like that happens all the time, why does no one test a new feature of its addon with a firefoxinstallation with the top5 addons having installed? adblock is in the top5)

Thanks for reporting. Will test here to see if modification is needed.

Meanwhile, make sure you upgrade to the latest toolbar. Then only hit "clip" when you need it. Turn it off when you don't need it.

It's near impossible to make sure we don't conflict with all extensions, but you do have a good point here. Will discuss with our team to incorporate into out normal testing procedure.

Slightly off topic: by the way, wonder if anyone knows what's the criteria for being selected as FF's recommended top extensions? Think Diigo extension is pretty good (and very useful) compared with most of them out there - should Diigo deserve a top recommended spot there as well ? :-)

Upon further checking, we tried Adblock and seems ok.

Please make sure that you've upgraded to the latest FF toolbar.

Dear Maggie, dear Marcel:

thank you for your hints. The use of the Clip is not selfdescribing, especially if there is some conflict with other software.
It would be very helpful, if the normal working of a new feature is "described" by a video on YouTube.

I added a universally usable tag

AskDiigo

where questions to the Diigo community can be aggregated in annotations. Via the same tag: answers can be given, preferably with embedded videos, placed in YouTube.

okay, short because I don't have much time: I actually use adblockplus, sorry. don't know about the differences. anyway, it's currently number two on the top addons list on the mozilla-site so you really should get that working together with diigo. No one demands to have diigo working flawless with every addon. just the second most downloaded one :)

afaik i have the latest versions of everything:
diigo: 1.0.2.007051201
adblock plus 0.7.5.1
on Firefox 2.0.0.3, XP SP2

And I'm serious. I can't clip videos right now.

Marcel,

I'm going to send you another new toolbar to try it out. It offsets the position by 20x. let's see if that makes a difference.

Meanwhile,

1) you can always turn off the "Clip" mode when you don't need it.
2) Even if it slightly overlaps, when you mouse over the one you wish, its menu (either Diigo's Clip It) or Adblock will float to the top, and you can easily pick the one you wish.

how do I install the new toolbar? just copy it into firefox' addons-folder? and do I have to uninstall my current diigo-toolbar before?

secondly, it doesn't just slightly overlap. it's almost completey the same size and position. no way I could push the clip-button. Is it just on my computer?

it works with the new version of the toolbar. doesn't look nice as the both still overlaps but it works.

I guess you could first clip it and then use the Search box to add tags and finally press the QuickD button. But QuickD will also flag the bookmark unread, (which will annoy you or then not.)

When you "Clipit", it's essentially adding a bookmark with no_tag, if you haven't bookmarked that page yet.

Would you like us to add some default tag to those? so that it can be easily retrieved? or would you prefer a pop-up bookmarking window when you hit "ClipIt" to allow you to edit on the spot?

Like to hear your thoughts on this...

Hi Maggie,
Concerning Clip It, or any new features, could we have a button that pops up on the toolbar when a new feature is introduced to "learn more about it"? I was thrown off by clip it appearing on my web pages suddenly and had no idea as to its purpose. I don't use the quick D function of the toolbar so am not certain Clip it can even work, or how it works, with the main Diigo button.

"Clip It" makes Embedded Vids disappear

I can't see videos since installing the latest toolbar version today. The embeds are visible until I scroll up to "Clip It" link, then they disappear.

Can you please assist us to reproduce this problem ? Is it for all webpages, or only for some specific pages with videos? Please advise the URLs that you're having problem with, so we can verify. Also, please advise your computer specs, browser type, etc. Thanks

What source are you clipping videos from? (i.e. YouTube, Dailymotion, etc.) Different sites use different video formats... this may help to solve the problem.
