Diigo Toolbar cause annoying numerous proxy authorization requests on FF3

I access internet through corporate Squid-based proxy, and after updating my FF up to 3 version, Diigo Toolbar generate 3 proxy authorization requests besides standard browser's one :o

Thanks for reporting. Does your proxy use Http Authentication?
Because we use the standard XMLHttpRequest for server communication, this might be caused by a FF3 bug (or behavior change). We need to reproduce the problem in our testing environment and see what's wrong.

Yes, our proxy use Basic http authentication

I've solved this problem adding Proxy-Authorization header to every request using "Modify Headers" extension

Can't see friends on Diigo Sidebar

I sent a friend request using the finder. After the friend accepts the invite, I am able to see the friend on the diigo web page. But the Diigo Sidebar still says "You don't have any friends at Diigo". Puzzling!

Diigolet highlight doesn't work

I'm not really sure what the problem is. On my work computer, as I don't have admin rights, I'm trying to use the Diigolet bookmark. However, whenever I try to highlight anything, this error appears by the Diigolet bar:

The number of highlighted non white space characters needs to be between 5 and 2000. Please select some text and try again.

Everything I've selected has been within that range; trying again doesn't yield any other result.

i recently opened the error sidebar, and was surprised to see a HUGE number of Diigo generated errors.

i captured a screen shot. i hope to get some explanation, and maybe provide some help in perfecting Diigo.

there must be some way to send a screen capture of those erros, but i'm not sure how to do it. please let me know...

with Opera the messages work well, but there is no toolbar for Opera...

Maybe it is useful to say that I am forced to use a very slow connection at present and that Opera didn't work at the first time when I tried because the page wasn't completely loaded, waiting more time made it to work, but the same trick didn't work in flock

After we installed these plugins, we still can't reproduce the problem. To speed up the debug process, could you send the profile to us?

To send your profile
1) Clear your private data in FF
2) Find your profile
Click the Windows Start button, and type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ in the Start Search box near the bottom of the Start menu, without pressing Enter. A list of profiles will appear in the top left of the Start menu.

3) Zip the profile

4) Send it to joel 【at】 diigo dot com. If the profile zip file is bigger than 20 M, you can send it through yousendit.com

I have a Diigo bookmarked web page. It's like a real difficult book I am studying hard everyday and many highlights and annotations I have made on it already. Thank Diigo, you have changed the way people study.

1. "This page cannot be highlighted" , I can't do any highlight on it. Existing highlights and sticky notes are still in the sidebar.
2. "Cannot find this highlight on this page. The page must have changed since you highlighted it.". I can't click sidebar items to jump to the position of them. No highlights shown on the Web page at where they should be.

I only found the problem happens on this specific web page so far.
This web page is not a normal page itself.The steps I created it were :
1. eMail a ~.DOC article file to my gmail account.
2. on my gmail, click 'View as HTML' on the attached article.
3. Now we have made the article a Web page with URL that can be Diigo'ed. This is what I want.
4. Start working on that Diigo'ed article happily.

Oh, Since Gmail contains many frames, it's hard to highlight it. BTW, email is very private content, so we don't encourage highlight emails.

An easier way to do what you are doing would be to do so in Google docs, which will let you view .doc files in html, and publish them to a static file which diigo shouldn't have such a problem with.

hey, here is a quick fix i KNOW you want to know about:

When you are in "My Bookmarks", looking at your lovely list, if you pick the option "Share to group" from the pull down menu, only the LINK is shared but not the annotations.

You have to go to the webpage itself, re-bookmark, and pick the "Share to Group" option from the pulldown as offered to you from the Bookmark option of the Toolbar.

Simulation Environment Details:

Firefox Browser

Sharing to a private group

Any thoughts?

:-) It's ok... It's better to be "safe" than "sorry" - thanks for keeping us informed of issues that you notice.

Diigo is all about the people who are in the community, and the value of the platform that it can deliver to its community users. As you can tell, V3 is a very, very complex system with lots of moving parts.... especially we are constantly updating and improving. Which means sometimes unexpected bugs will arise. So love to have more "eyes" out there to assist us making sure all is working well.

BUG - Tag order not preserved ANYMORE

Since the changes to the new system where you send bookmarks to del.icio.us FROM YOUR SERVER instead of from the Firefox addin -- you have broken some key functionality. On del.icio.us, tag order is preserved and considered important for search relevance etc., and whereas IN THE PAST, the Firefox tool sent bookmarks directly to delicious (and thus preserved the tag order) the new system sends them to delicious from the database, and thus sends the tags in alphabetical order.

IMHO, this is broken. Not only do you loose the order of the tags (which I still think is semantically relevant), but you're having a negative impact on my ability to use del.icio.us.

In my group "Thomas Tolman Family Organization", I've got a couple of bookmarks that I've given a bunch of tags. However, those tags often don't show up in the "Bookmark Tags" section on the right side. Are they supposed to show instantly after I add/change them?

It also seems that it shows a different set if you're not logged in. Is there something I need to do to show them to everyone?

I was wondering why the rss of lists leaves out my comments, sticky notes and highlights.

Help Java Gone

What did I just do? One minute I am happily going along, retagging all the bookmarks I had quickd'd, and suddenly the java is GONE. The "about" and "preview" buttons do not work. The "edit" "comment" "unread" "public" and other little tools are gone. Everything is fine on other sites. Every thing is FINE in IE...but in firefox... its all GONE. ARe you guys doing anything right now?

ps... I have to write this in IE because the submit button for this entry in Firefox says ReferenceError: $ is not defined.

RSS Bug Report of Tags

I've noticed an error in translation of tags to RSS having to do with tags that are two words separated by a space with quotes around them. This has to do with the following: When you want to translate a space into a url, a "+" happens to be the way to signify space. However, Diigo just happens to have the fabulous function where a plus sign ALSO means that it is the narrowing down of a tag to the inclusion of other tags. Here is a good example.

As you know, If I tag this Diigo Group as:

"Diigo Communities"

then the link to the "Diig Communities" tags would be:

http://www.diigo.com/user/suzannah/"diigo+communities"

and would be translated in a web browser to be

http://www.diigo.com/user/suzannah/%22diigo+communities%22

great coding on your part. we just need to do the same for rss. Here's the important part: The RSS for a tag "Diigo Communities" SHOULD be:

http://www.diigo.com/rss/user/Suzannah/"diigo+communities"

and, like above, thus be translated in a web browser to be:

http://www.diigo.com/rss/user/Suzannah/%22diigo+communities%22

However, the RSS url next to a tab doesnt have the necessary format of

http://www.diigo.com/rss/user/Suzannah/"diigo+communities"

as stated above. Instead, the format is

http://www.diigo.com/rss/user/Suzannah/diigo+communities

This means that when you click the RSS url for a tag that has a space in it, Diigo is looking for bookmarks tagged BOTH the first word and the second word, instead of both together. For example, the RSS url for "Diigo Communities" is currently the exact same url of a feed that has both the tag "Diigo" AND the tag "Communities". So when I post a feed for "Diigo Communities" , Diigo is looking for bookmarks that have the single word tag "Diigo" as well as the single word tag "Communities".

In summary, the url for the RSS feed of a tag that is made up of two words and a space needs to have the quotes around it much like the url of the same tag has the quotes.

Does this make sense?

Diigolet won't sign in

This morning the editing tags problem from last night seems to be intermittently fixed however the Diigolet is refusing to sign in still (the problem began late last night) I am running FF3 but I have been for about a week and the problems only began lst night.

I have tried restarting FF but no improvement

Does anyone have a solution before I decide that it's easier to walk away from this most promising utility.

I'm affraid it's NOT fixed:
after loading 1Kb digolet stalls....
The last time I installed the toolbar on Firefox 2.0.12,
it ruined my extensions:
I had to start custumizing Firefox from scratch,and had a hard time finding back all addons...
Also lost all my passwords.... won't try that again!
Digolet was a functioning replacement,just a bit slower!
Now I can't add any bookmark anymore:-(

I'm still having problems when I tried to add a sticky note. It let me add my bookmark but then when I tried to add a sticky note it went from my username to failed. I tried this three times and it keeps switching between username and failed

any ideas?
