WINDHOEK, April 21 (Reuters) - Namibia's High Court has ruled as invalid permits allowing Forsys Metals Corp. (FSY.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) to extract groundwater in the Namib Desert, disrupting the Canadian company's plans to construct a uranium mine. Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) yesterday in Abuja said it had evacuated three high-risk radioactive sources from the country. Director-general, Prof. Shamsideen Elegba, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the evacuation was carried out in conjunction with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has approved regulations to guide Zambia's uranium mining activities, Zambian Mines Minister Kalombo Mwansa said. The regulations encompass the proposed mining, milling and transportation of uranium and other radioactive minerals in the country, he said in the Southern province of the country.
