This is a great site to share with your level II and III teachers. Produced and kept up by the Goodwill Community Foundation. Everyday life is a set of flash tutorials for completing tasks of everyday life.
Bandaides and Backboards is written from the child's perspective to help others understand what it is like to grow up with medical problems. This is not condition specific rather it is an overall perspective.
I cannot find who produces this site but I found the following citation on most of the subject area pages "Updated. Ready for 07-08 school year." I would consider the links found on each page to be supportive of student classroom activities, or do at home resources. Very comprehensive.
I found this site while going through the QIAT digest. The discussion thread concerned sight word instruction for older students. One of the participants recommended this wiki as a place to look for resources. After examining it I thought there were enough different resources that it should be shared. Ohio has some pretty heavy duty high stakes testing so I think this site is pretty comprehensive in terms of llinking gen ed curriculum to instruction and assessment of students with disabilities.
All I can say is WOW. There are too many images to count available for free download for non commercial use. Not only the typical images but some rather unique but common things children experience. definitely worth a look. BTW: these are PNG files so they could be imported into TuxPaint as stamps.
This is a list of resources to many different sites with many being links to sources of pictures that might supplement Boardmaker, or be useful when you are away from the office and don't have a BM disk with you.
QIAT discussion reference: Voice email programs. This is a more comprehensive response beyound the original post. Addresses the whole topic of voice as a learning tool. Is actually a presentation outline.
I had forgotten about this site. The sole purpose of the site is to rating toys for children with special needs. There are a variety of ways to conduct a search, and I have found that some of the recommended materials are ones I haven't seen before.
I have recommended this site before. In the past it provided a comprehensive comparison of math and reading programs. Now the site has been updated to include new programs, new ways of examining features and now includes writing and AT tools.
Came across this website while reviewing links recommended during the QIAT discussion thread on sound files. When I looked at it I found that this blog addressed many more topics than sound files. It is a difficult site to explain but please take a look.
