Microsoft recently announced the Release Preview (RP), the last trial version before the final release of Windows 8. Win 8 Release Preview introduces the features and design that are expected in the final version of this next generation operating system. Microsoft has taken a big stride to introduce many new features with this OS related to security, interface, apps and design. Lets have a close look at how Microsoft can provide a new look to its traditional Windows with new and innovative Metro interface for tablet and desktop apps apart from other things discussed below.

Things to reckon about Windows 8 Release Preview

Consumers can see a lot of variation between the Consumer Preview (CP) and Release Preview. It seems Microsoft is still in the mode of adding new features to make the launch picture perfect. What is new is the addition of colors and patterns to the Metro Start screen apart from the new cursors.

If you go further you will find that Aero effects have been toned down. It seems that to make the final release more classy, Microsoft has preferred flatter borders and fewer glowing buttons, shadows, reflections, and gradients. It is believed that the RP is still away from the final thing and by the time Windows 8 final version will be launched, it would be different and improved than what is projected right now.

It is expected that there will be a minor shift in setup apart from the expansion of 'hot zone' along the edges of the screen. You will probably see a group of desktop backgrounds in a multiple-monitor setup as well as the feature called 'Add Features to Windows 8' enabled by a new version of the Windows Anytime Upgrade. You will notice one more change in the setting charm that now leads to 'Change PC settings' instead of 'More PC Settings.'

    Internet Explorer 10

Microsoft has plans to ship windows 8 professional 64 bit with Internet Explorer 10 (IE 10) to make it perform perfectly. IE 10 has entered into its sixth platform preview to make it a software to be reviewed for the highest time in the Microsoft's history. IE 10 has been equipped with many new features that make it special.

One of the most talked about features of IE 10 is about its ability to run Adobe Flash Player as an integrated program on both the Metro and Desktop interface. It has been previously announced that Flash Player will work also on ARM-based Windows RT systems. The embedded Flash animations will work if you use IE 10 on the 'desktop' side of Windows 8. The compatibility view of IE 10 lists at present around 417 sites that are considered safe for Metro IE 10's Flash Player.

ActiveX controls in IE 10 leads to certain confusions if you access ActiveX sites with this browser. There is absolutely no problem with ActiveX running on Desktop IE10 but it fails to run on Metro IE10 as observed in the sixth platform preview. Moreover, Metro IE10 won't let you know in case it has encountered nonfunctional ActiveX controls. To properly view a page with ActiveX controls in Metro IE10, you need to tap the wrench icon located at the bottom of the screen in the navigation bar and then choose 'View on the Desktop.' This action will take you to the other IE10 that is designed to properly handle the ActiveX control.

    New Metro apps

Metro apps are the most talked about feature of the Windows 8. One of the most useful apps among those is the new Metro Bing News app. It is based on the big-shot-for-the-tile layout with news categories that are portrayed under different categories on the news site of Bing. There will be three tiles for each group that denotes three different stories. You have to just tap on the topic that you want to read and you will see several stories related to that topic as result.

With these improvements windows 8 professional 64 bit Release Preview is promising a lot to the prospective consumers. Users are confident that Microsoft will overcome the reported flaws with the operating system before the final release of Windows 8.
