The Tablet S runs the latest version of Android Honeycomb with some modifications, pre-loaded Sony apps, and games. You will find Sony's Reader app for ebooks, the Reader Store, a File Transfer app along with Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited, Quick View in the browser for faster loading, and the popular PSOne game: Crash Bandicoot. If you want more games, you can load the other PSOne and PSP titles.

The other interesting features are DLNA support and Remote Control app. You can click the "Throw" button in audio and video apps, and it will immediately scan for DLNA-compliant devices, allowing you to stream video or music from the tablet to those devices wirelessly. The Remote Control app enables you to use the tablet as a universal remote. It works with any A/V hardware, not only for Sony's brand. That's pretty cool.

Seemingly it's no exaggeration to say "all of Sony's innovations folded into one". Nevertheless, TouchPad is heavier than iPad 2. Perhaps it is due to iPad 2's ultra thin feature. The 8.8 mm thickness of Apple iPad really beats HP TouchPad's 13.7 mm thick feature.

TouchPad uses the webOS 3.0 operating system while iPad 2 uses the fourth generation of Apple's iOS. The webOS is by far an excellent platform. Some even say that it is better in terms of performance when compared to the highly praised Android Honeycomb. While Android needs to catch up its technology, webOS is already settled. But do not forget that iOS 4 is also a strong platform. In fact, it has been proven that the iPad 2 is 4 times faster than the first generation iPad.

Apple iPad 2 was released in March 11, 2011, while the HP TouchPad will be released later this month. Available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of storage options, both tablets offer competitive price, ranges from $499 to $599 depending on the brands and storage capacities.

HP is debuting a tablet computer and it's a doozy. This is one tablet computer that means to be taken seriously. What do you need? Email-check. Web browsing-check. Multitasking-check. Video calling-check. Fast Flash technology-check. This tablet seemingly has it all.

Using web OS 3.0 operating system, the 32GB WiFi TouchPad, as it's officially called, goes beyond mere multitasking. This system synergystically works with contacts, calendar, messages, photos and email from Facebook, Google and Microsoft Exchange. What this means to you is that all your photos, for instance, instantly appear on your tablet computer even if the albums are located on Facebook or Photobucket or Snapfish. That's a real step forward.

Tired of opening a browser every time you want to search the web? JustType lets you just type and you're there. Same goes for Facebook and other social media. You may also find it relaxing to download an ebook, perhaps through the Kindle app, and you will find its 9.7" diagonal LED backlit multitouch glass display with 1024x768 resolution so easy on the eyes. It's even better than an actual Kindle. Just don't tell Amazon. Capacity to view movies is coming soon.

HP TouchPad has access to hundreds of apps. So far, it does not have thousands like some of its rivals, but HP has made an effort to supply the most popular apps from other platforms. kindle fire
