Before looking at the Rheingau wine and imported cheeses that him and i were lucky enough to purchase at a local wine store and a local Italian food retail store, here are a few suggestions of what to eat with indigenous wine drinks when touring this lovely region.

Start with gerä ucherte Forelle (Smoked Trout).

Go on with Saurbraten (Gound beef Marinated in Wine, White vinegar, and Spices) together with Reibekuchen (Small Spud Pancakes with Blueberry and also Apple Sauce).

With regard to dessert indulge yourself with brandy-filled Pralinen (Pralines).

Let's begin by quoting the marketing materials. Light ruby color using classic Pinot Noir aromas of beetroot, cherry, and earth. Dry, supple, well-balanced and-structured, this light-bodied, medium long completing wine would match well with grilled rock Cornish hen or salmon.

My first meal contains a cheeseless meat lasagna. The wine was definitely a Pinot Noir. It was earthy and tasted of tobacco and also the underbrush. It cut the meat's sauces and showed itself definitely to become a food-friendly wine. To the best of my memory this is certainly my first German Pinot Noir and in truth the first German wine that I have sampled. I'll be coming again for more.

My following meal included baked filo cash pastry covered with sesame seeds filled with ground chicken and peas. I topped the mixture with a moderately spicy Middle Far eastern salsa that included tomato plants, red peppers, green peppers, together with onions. This pairing worked fairly well; the meat brought out the tobacco in this Pinot Noir. While your wine was not as full as some other sort of Pinot Noirs in its price structure, it was moderately long.

My last meal was a slow-cooked gound beef stew with potatoes. The Pinot Noir was mouth-filling; all over again it tasted of cigarettes and earth. Just and that means you know, I'm not some sort of smoker or an ex-smoker. But I do like a certain amount of tobacco in my Pinot Noirs.

I had enough wine left to help accompany two cheeses; unfortunately neither pairing was really successful. First was a Bel Paese delicate cow's milk cheese in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. This mild cheese made the wine a bit flat. I finished the bottle with a German Limberger cheese, famous or perhaps infamous for its strong smell. Luckily enough my cheese had not many odor. But it did manage to kill the wine's fresh fruit.

Final verdict. I liked this wine beverages but won't decide whether to purchase it again until I try other German Pinot Noirs. But it is definitely worth considering.
