For some reason, this time every year, let's just call it the pumpkin rotting season, we seem to be infested with gnats. The gnats appear out of nowhere and invade our pumpkins. Once they give the pumpkins, for some unknown reason, they make their method to our bathroom. We have never had a pumpkin, or even food, or anything of interest to them in there, and I have never been able to figure out why they migrate to the bathroom, but they do. Every year the small children and I vow to fight off the gnats and kill these, and this year is no different. This is showdown, people!
One trick my son functions is, he waits until they're just on the wall and then rolls over them which includes a lint roller, he has also left glue on some paper hoping they would land there, and placed a cup of hot chocolate on the counter, again, hoping they will want a drink and then get stuck; we get tried everything, or so that i thought.
My son stayed home sick today and was at the bathroom for a very long while. I bumped and asked if he was OK and your dog said yes. When he finally came out, he was smiling, and went back to sit on the couch. He had a giant old grin and As i asked if everything had been OK. He said yes. He looked at myself and said, "Mom, we are smarter this year and we can win the war with gnats! " And that was all he would say. This made me a bit concerned.
I went in the bathroom and taped on the mirror, was an empty Junior Mints box that had a piece of chocolate taped to the inside, tape was all in the inside and outside the box, with the sticky side out. What the? How come there a sticky, chocolaty Junior Mints box taped to the bathroom mirror? SON! Primary update: My son just reported that he caught one gnat in the trap! Man your gas stations everyone, this year we will be victorious! The bathroom will be ours again!

Outdoors gnats become super nuisances, especially when people gather for some sort of cookout or other getting. Attention to gnats in house housekeeping (keeping garbage cans clean, etc.) helps keep them away, but some gnats simply don't take the hint they aren't wanted.
You need some extra action to give up these guys from humming around your eyes and ears.
I recently found Skin So Soft Tub Oil, mixed with water within a spray bottle, works properly. Mix 5 capfuls using a quart of water (move it up good before you decide to apply it because it's a great oil, and separates in the water quickly).
An additional item that helped myself avoid outdoor gnat blasts is Bounce fabric softener. Maybe they don't like your smell. Hang one sheet through a belt loop or from your pocket, and roll another sheet up in the headband.
