There is a way to get Fring to select the Bt AP if you've already got other connections: by making it select it when fring does an Automatic Search (which happens when you use the 'Change Connection Setting' and then click Cancel to the list of APs that pops up). However, fring searches through the APs in order - and it'll never select Bt since your internet ones will be chosen first. BUT, if you make sure that Bt is the first Access point that fring tries when it's searching, it will work! In addition, when you're out of bluetooth range, this same search will usually select your 3G connection - or you can select it manually since they do appear on the list. So its a perfect solution.
The question is how to make Bt the first access point? It's easy: All I did was open up my list of APs (in tools->settings->connections settings), and COPY each of my other access points (by creating a New Access point and selecting 'Use Existing Settings'); so now I had a copy of each, ... then i deleted the originals, and voila: Bt is now the first access point fring tries in an automatic search!! It works like a bomb on my N70 - I been doing this for months, and I can still revert to 3G when leaving the house! Just remember to set the correct access point again in all your other programs (like Opera/Web/Messaging, etc), since you've now deleted the original one
Be careful with this; write down your original 3G/MMS access point settings before doing the delete in case you screw up
Sorry tho, if your existing APs are locked you can't do this... But it's a good solution if you don't want to have Bt as your only AP!
Happy bluetooth fringing! Great software, Fring team! Add vibrate and up volume!!
