Mining - accumulation of mineral matter on the surface or in the bowels of the earth, the quantity, quality and mode of occurrence is suitable for industrial use.
Minerals are gaseous, liquid and solid. Belong to the gas field flammable hydrocarbon composition and non-flammable gases such as helium , neon , argon , krypton . To apply liquid deposits of oil and underground water . It belongs to the most hard mineral deposits that are used to extract valuable elements of them, minerals , crystals and rock . Industrial use of mineral deposits are divided into ore or metal (see Ore deposits ), non-metallic or non-metallic minerals, fuels, or caustobioliths (see gas field , gas condensate field , oil field ), and hydro. Number of minerals and its quality of mineral deposits should be sufficient for commercial development. The minimum number of minerals and the lowest quality, which can be operated at, called industrial condition. Mineral deposits are exposed on the surface and to treat open or be buried in the bowels of the earth and to qualify as closed or "blind".

On geological conditions of formation of mineral deposits are divided into series, which, in turn, are divided into groups, and these, the last, are divided into classes, subclasses, and formations. There are three series of mineral deposits: sedimentogene (surface, exogenous), magmatic (deep, endogenous), metamorphic.

Mineral deposits occurred throughout the history of education the crust from its earliest stages to the present. In accordance with the division of geological history stand deposits of (See Metallogenic epoch ).

By source of material making up the mineral deposits, among them are the fields with matter subcrustal, mantle or basaltic magmas , cows or granitic magma, and sedimentary shell of the Earth.

At the place of formation of mineral deposits are divided into geosynclinal (or fold areas) and platform. There are four levels of education of mineral deposits on the surface of the Earth: the ultra (over 10-15 km), abyssal (from 3-5 to 10-15 km), hypabyssal (from 1-1.5 to 3-5 km), near-surface ( from the Earth's surface to a depth of 1-1.5 km).
