I was feeling the same yesterday as I shared my bookmarks. My tags make sense to me, but do they to others?
For this list, the general tag "tablets" is pretty generic. Maybe we could have some more specific links, like:
"tablet_software" or "tablet_tools" -- software/widgets to support tablet computing
"tablet_tricks" or "tablet_techniques" -- tips/tricks/techniques for tablet use
"tablet_research" -- research about using tablets in the classroom or to support learning
"tablet_support" -- repair, fixes, etc
"tablet_hardware" -- brands, hardware info
"tablet_schools" -- schools using tablets
"tablet_tutorials" -- tutorials about tablet use
"tablet_students" -- info for/about kids using tablets
"tablet_curriculum" -- lesson plans / curriculum specific to tablets
"tablet_interactives" -- interactive websites especially effective with tablets
"tablet_talk" -- general discussions about the use of tablets
"tablet_advantages" -- advantages available with tablets not available with traditional computing
Just a thought... Other suggestions? I'd be happy to revise my tags if these make sense to others.
that's awesome. I do wonder about this issue in a global sense of using shared social bookmarking software. I just feel like I'm missing something in terms of the functionality of the software (whether its Diigo or Delicious.) I guess it is inherent in the software that it's up to the users to define the most useful tags, but I'm wondering if a "group" in Diigo (focused on a topic like tablets) could specify a global tag to be attached to all user generated tags. In this case, it seems like our global group tag would be "tablet_".
Maybe I need to do some research into tagging to learn more about it.
thanks!!
